I got into my SSR this AM and once I started it up, I notice the backup camera came on. It shouldn’t come on until after I put in reverse. After I got into the street and heading forward, the backup camera was still on.
I tried pressing the menu button and nothing happen so I press the map button and next thing I know is the screen is all in Russian.
I manage to get to the XM radio but then again, all the words were displayed in Russian.
I still can’t get to the menu screen & I’m now looking for the owner manual … where did I put it?
My radio is a Pineer unit with NAV system.

How did you get to Russia? I can't tell you otherwise because the internet works there so you can still post here. Who installed your Nav unit. They should be able to help and I am sure you can get there without directions. If you find them they should be able to assure you that you are still in the USA and, in fact, California.
Good luck.

Well, I downloaded the owner manual for my Pioneer AVIC F900BT.
I ended up pressing RESET button to default back to the factory settings. That didn't remove the Russian language but it did let me get to the menu screen (in Russian). I took a wild guess which word was which and manage to get it back to English language without any problems.
Still can't turn off the back up camera while it in either Park or Drive.
Time for a nap then I dig back into it again.

I have my backup cam on all the time and use it as another mirror. I like it that way.

Dang Dwight, that backup camera is VERY distracting during night time driving. I couldn't even turn it off.
So much for the SSR this weekend. I'm gonna park it until next week & then take it to Oskars in Ventura.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I can turn it off if I want to and sometimes I do at night because the headlights tend to flare but it is off center so not such a distraction as it would be if in the center of the dash.
