Funny, I just spent a couple hours this morning trying to extricate VIN's from my master list to see where the SSR's outside the 48 mainland states are in the world.
This is all I have found for Hawaii, none specific to Kauai although I have no idea where Aiea or Waipahu are.

You are welcome. Have a good time. I really love the island of Kauai. It is full of lush greenery and has no freeways. I have been told it rains 500-600 inches per year in the mountains. I believe it.

If you stay near the airport, you can go 35MPH either direction and run out of raod in about an hour. Turn around and come back. There are many side roads that go to secluded and gorgeous beaches and cool little towns, too. On our favorite islnd list, too..

We were told that it was the rainest place on earth, which is both correct and incorrect.
Some areas of India, Columbia and I think Canada have more inches of rain annually, with one place in India getting 72" of rain in ONE DAY!
The place that has the most rainy days per year is Mount Wai-'ale'ale on the island of Kauai, Hawaii. It has up to 350 rainy days annually.

I'd get up every morning to watch the sunrise and the dumpster truck would be there. I'd walk down to the parking lot, and the rental car would be clean as can be. I thought there was some early-bird Moke that I had to buff up with a Tip before we left the Island. One morning, I got up earlier than usual and found out it was jus the Early Morning Rain...... That gentle rain came back around 2PM each day, also.

Saw one on Kauai
Saw a red one years ago and I go over to Kauai 10-12 times a year for work. I also seen a posting from a Kauai person that said he fried his chip with the diablo tuner. But haven't met or seen one for years.
Every Island has its own flavor of events. Because Kauai is one of the older island, it has mature greenery. If you would like suggestions on local "grinds" - places to eat or things to do, let me know.
