Big Fines For Steet Racing

Just in case all those living in Ontario have not already heard, there has been new legislation passed to increase the fines for road racing. I am sure most of us are not doing this anyway but just incase you get the urge when one of those rice rockets pulls up beside you, I would suggest you don't blow his doors off.
Fine starts out at $1,000.00 to max of $10,000.00 and automatic suspension of your drivers license. I am not sure of all the facts but I don't want to find out the hard way either

The new system in Manitoba is even more stringent. If you are convicted of street racing, you not only go to jail and/or get hit by a huge fine, you get to watch your car get crushed by a giant earthmover.

They are cracking down in Houston also. The fines are up to $2000. There have been a couple of kid's in their rice grinders who have wrecked their cars street racing in last couple of weeks where the cars have split in half, engine and car 100feet apart, killing a couple of people.

Street racing is dangerous.

I used to street race 20+ years ago when there were a lot fewer people in the world, and even fewer rice burners. Back then it was a only a select few that built a street racing car.

One night while racing against a 69 Chevelle SS 396 @ 135mph around 3 AM, on the city streets. It popped in my head that at any given intersection, someone could have pulled out and that would have been the end for all of us. Although I did beat the Chevelle by a car and a half.

That night was the end of my street racing. It just didn't seem worth the time and money invovled in building them to take a chance at a high speed wreck. Not to mention the possilble loss of someones life.

Now it's built for show with a wee bit of go along for the ride (400-500 HORSES IS PLENTY TO PLAY WITH).

Still have my go really fast toys. But they're used in a much safer enviroment.

Big fines. Lose the car for street racing. Add aggressive drivers to the list
