Big Trees - Kings Canyon
Well, my daughter Kim accepted a job up at Kings Canyon National Park. Which means I have to drive that 55 miles of curvey road if I want to see her.
She's working for 'Park Services' - and they provide housing at a great rate, so she gets to stay up there all summer. It's a bit 'rustic' but she seems to be enjoying it up there. NO cell service, but she is able to go online at the restaurant (were we had our 'picnic' for the 2nd annual Kingsburg Gathering).
I've made a couple runs up there since she started - and thought I'd share a few photos...

Took her some supplies in the HHR Saturday - took the 'backroad' (75 miles of wonderful curvy roads!) home and stopped in at 'CedarBrook' to see if there was another LadyBug swarm. (Was thru here a couple years back and have NEVER seen so many LadyBugs.)
This is just off the route we took for the 2nd Kingsburg Run (Hwy 245) - just outside of Pinehurst where my grandmother ran a Bar and Grill when logging was still real big up there in the '60's.
The weather will be good again to make that trip next year at the Kingsburg Event.....
I wasn't able to go to the coast this year because i had to get my son home on Sunday . So we went for a ride up to the big trees. The weather was great. Looked way different without any snow.

Made another run...
...After work yesterday. Kim has a couple days off and she has a couple of things to take care of in the Valley. I sure like being able to see the area with different lighting!
FYI: The final 27 miles or so up Hwy 180 sees an altitude change from 500' to over 6000' elevation...
