Has anyone used this award this year? Does anyone know where this is now? Have we forgotten a good man, good friend and great Fanatic? I for one would like to see this award back in circulation and presented at the most SSR events possible. Like to hear your thoughts and comments.
we need someone to host the awards home base location so we know whom to contact to obtain this ward and besure it gets tracked/shipped to the next SSR activities on time.
It's up to you now. I'll do what I can to help out too.

Don't know where the award is, but my nomination for long distance king this year is Zane (ZsSSR)
Zane travelled from Chandler, AZ to Springfield, MO for the national SSR event ( 1316 miles) then took a slight turn to the north to get to Penticton for the Peach City Beach Cruise (2013 miles) before returning home to Chandler (1576 miles)
Total travel time, assuming he didn't do any other driving, was 74 hours for a total of 4905 miles. according to Mapquest.

Keith was well deserving of the award in Springfield!! I thought it was an interesting coincidence that Keith was something like exactly 1000 miles from Kingsburg at the same time my truck rolled over to 5000 miles. (Noticed because of anouncement over the radios in the caravan)
Thanks for the vote Ray!!
There were a few detours on the way while doing some sightseeing and things like that so the actual mileage and time was a little higher.
Here are the actual stats:
Total Mileage leaving home to returning home: 6532
Total driving time (per GPS): 97 hours
Best Mileage: ~21.2 miles/gal
Worst Mileage: 15.1 miles/gal (around Penticton) or 15.9 miles/gal (in SD on I-90)
Average Mileage: 18.4 per DIC and 18.65 as calculated
Total Cost of gas: $1196.83
Average speed (per GPS): 57 mph
Top Speed (per GPS): 130 mph (in Texas, trying to keep up with Wearyeagle )
Number of Oil Changes: 1 (Missoula, MT)
Attached is a listing of my mileage along the way..
Note: The mileage record includes 37 extra miles with 3.5 between the gas station and home before leaving and 33.5 around town after arriving home before last fill up.
PS: My nomination for long distance of the year would be Marty and Dee, the winners of the award in Laughlin. Marty and Dee are from Ohio and were at Laughlin, Maggie Valley, Hot Rod Power Tour, and Springfield. I think they will probably also attend Woodward in August.
The award is open to any event, all you have to do is request it.
The award is to be given to the person who drove the furtherest from one point to an event. The reciepent may keep the award until it is requested by another event chairperson.
