'Canes fan here........just moved back to New England after 27 years in Raleigh.....still love those canes!!! Last years Stanley Cup was a great moment for the 'Canes and Raleigh!!! Kind of nice to rub it into the New Englanders that they gave us the 'Canes!!! (previously the Hartford Whalers)

Canes Fans?

I really do not know much about the Canes, but one thing stands out in my mind.
The media coverage of the Stanley Cup being driven around the parking lot with the 500 or so Fans in attendance was pitiful.
In contrast the same cup was taken to Cambell River home of the captain, Rod Brind Amour and thousands upon thousands show up.
Also we were in Maggie Valley for the SSR meet while the Cup was on and no one there knew about the team or hockey in general.
Great team, great Cup win, work needed on FAN base.
You have your work cut out for you.
Not to mention Rods injury and the loss to Toronto.
Now lets take down our hard top convertible trucks and cruise to a game or two.

Your Canadian SSR hockey dude

I may be wrong but SSRSally477 is from Florida.... Maybe a Miami Hurricanes fan? If so...GO CANES! I'll miss Coker... but it's nice they're keepin' it in the family with the new coach!
I love Hockey too tho'. I'm originally from St. Louis so I'm a "Blues" fan. Now I live in So. Fl. and it's hard to get to a "Panthers" game as the stadiums a little far...

Yes that is me, and that is Lord Stanley. A couple of years back, I was the driver for the guy who runs around with the cup. We had time before he left time so we came over to my house to get some pics of the cup on my bar.

The "U" of Miami football team will be back...no doubt about it The new coach is the best choice possible and another College Football title will be in the making with the new staff. The talent base just in Florida will be used more and Miami was called "Sunburn U " when I attended 30 years ago I pray that the U of Fla will add us back to their schedule....those were great times!!!!

I love Miami...what a great football (&baseball!) history. I also love U of Florida as they employ me periodically...I hate Florida State! It's that stupid indian chant!
