TLC's Rides show had an episode where 4 teams were given HHRs to customize. PTeazers was one of the 4 teams but didn't do any performance mods - made it into a tailgating machine. Both the Year One and Unique Performance squeezed V8s into theirs.
They all got an SSR for their efforts! Now if we only knew the VIN #s to put in Rebel's registry!
Thanks KWhopper, I've been on that site for hours now, some very cool HHR's. I had no idea that it had taken off like that. They've got some great ideas from the Nomad tailgate bars, which by the way I was thinking about for the SSR last night, to the airbrushed rear bar like the SSR concept.
GM had several customized for SEMA. I do not remember if this was one. I remember the V8s which were converted to rear drive. In one, the rear was occupied by enormous speakers.
All 4 made for the GM contest are on HHRClub.org The V-8's and a few others including West Coast Customs, those guys are from Pimp my Ride/MTV, it's a very nicely done HHR, too bad a tree fell on it!!!
White HHR is by GM, a concept, wide body, station wagon looking, it's just awesome, check it out, look at the Zebra wood rear compartment. Green/Silver from original post was one of the contestants and I believe the winner. 1 SSR was given away and they sold it w/ 69 miles on it.
Thanks to everyone for all the help, I think we found our next ride!
My SSR: 2006 Blue over Primer'd Bondo 6spd #23424 slapped together 2/22/06
Well, the Chevy/GM minivans (as well as Ford's) are pretty much "dead" anyway, so a Chevy minivan hearse makes sense. Has anyone actually BOUGHT one of these things since they slapped that pig nose on them and tried to make them an SUV/wagon/crossover thingie? Yeah GM...THAT'S the way to beat the competitors! How about another FWD rounded off Buick over-priced plastic chromed 3800 V6'd powered granmobile? Now THAT'S the ticket! (Thanks Jon Lovitz!)
