My guess is that if that is all that is wrong and you obey the rules you will not get pulled over unless someone is having a bad day, but I live in CA and have no idea how things ared done in KY. I would also guess that if you get pulled over for something else the tinting will not help your case at all.

Keep the tints legal, Brad . . . NOT WORTH THE RISK.

Other than looking there's absolutely no reason to go darker than what's legal.

Here in CA, tint windows not allowed on the doors period ... but I have it anyway and know many many others who do.

As for Kentucky, might be best to check with your state Dept of Motor Vehicle. I bet once you get on the DMV web, you'll find the answer you're looking for.

I am a retired Orlando Police Sergeant. I never stopped anyone in my entire career for window tinting. I don't know any other cops who ever stopped anyone either. However, if you make them mad ( Contempt of Cop ) they could use the tint for an excuse to stop you.

I was thinking the same thing, Warrior.

God forbid there's a serious accident . . . I have a feeling with 50% Windshield Tint the insurance company would be extremely reluctant or even refuse to pay the claim which could very well become a mega-nightmare for the driver and/or vehicle owner.

Once again . . . THE FACTOR IS NOT WORTH THE RISK.

Thank God for Nevada, DZH . . .

Hanging Dice, no matter how small or insignificant, could very easily obscure a pedestrian, a small child or even a bicycle rider.

There are far too many "distractions" out there nowadays . . . there's absolutely no reason to add blocked or restricted vision to the mix.

Some of the local little towns here in SC will pull you over for 1 or 2 mph over the speed limit, they also carry the unit for testing tint and if it too dark write you a ticket for it. Local Greenville also passed ordinance regarding car stereos and noise level- after 3rd ticket you need to remove all equipment and turn it in........

I just got back from Florida and I wondered how they got away with their blacked out windows! I had my front side windows tinted once on a late model pickup I had a few years ago. Then one night I pulled out in front of another vehicle. He swerved to miss me. I took the tint off shortly after.
I don't care what anyone says, they are harder to see out of at night.

Originally from Monroe, NC. Mom told me that in the 20 years I've been gone, it has been taken over by yankie's (I use the sterotypical term here, not necessarily geographic). I'd say, this confirms it. You can't legislate consideration for others into a person, that's taught to you by your family.

On the window tinting.... I wonder how long before manufacturers will install moncromatic windows, like in our mirrors. Tinting is like sunglasses you can't take off when you don't need them. Having said that....guilty as charged. Bought it with 15% in side and rear (and I love the look). I do admit to cracking the window for a better view before pulling out at dusk, when the idiots in black cars forget to turn on their headlights.
