Talking Dc-14

The Dyson DC-14 is the best vacuum on the face of the planet... bar none. I've owned all the big name vacs and this is THE one that actually works and does what they say it will do.

Here's a gallery image I posted on Amazon.com years ago when I got mine.

Amazon.com: Dyson DC14 Animal Cyclone Upright Vacuum Cleaner: Kitchen & Dining

I went over the nearly new carpet in our small living room with my Electrolux and then immediately followed that with the Dyson. I took enough dirt and beagle fur out of the carpet to probably fill an Electrolux bag.

And... here's my ePinions.com review on it:

Dyson DC-14

Bottom line... this is the vacuum to own and the deal they have on WOOT! is a darned good deal.

This is a great price - we have the lighter weight DC18 'slim' - and it really is amazing how much these Dysons pick up!

Sorry to hear that, because I have never had any issues with things I have gotten from them.

On a positive note at least you get a 6 month warranty with the vacum. And there does seem to be a lot of good reviews.
Personally I will just stay away from any of their Refurbs. (burn me once shame on you burn me twice shame on me!)

I can't speak for the refurbished ones... but, the Dyson is the way to go when buying a vacuum. All others just leave the dirt and you figure you must have gotten it. Especially when you spend some serious money for an Electrolux (I bought two of them), Kirby (another high dollar POS), I could go on and on...

Sticking with my matching green vintage Hoovers, a Celebrity III canister and a Convertible upright. Both refurbished in the mid '80s and still suckin' hard...

Dyson Animal

We bought a new Dyson Animal early this year, and absolutely love it. But, I know what ours sucks up (a whole lot of doggy hair - we have 3 fairly large dogs), and I'm not sure I would buy a refurbished one. One never knows what the vacuum cleaner was put through.

If you can find out the history as to why it was refurbished, I would recommend doing so.

Just my .02 worth.

Bought a Dyson Animal some time back but our carpet is so thick and the vacuum suction so strong that even my husband had a difficult time using it...took it back and went back to my Rainbow...pricey but nothing else has ever compared

I bought one of those Dysons and my wife loves it. She said it was one of the favorite Christmas gifts this year. Yeah, you heard me,.. She wanted on for Christmas.

I wonder how many ladies on here would offended to get a vacuum cleaner for Christmas... hmmmm?

We have the Pet Version and went over our carpet after what we thought was a thorough cleaning with a Commercial Oreck. I could not believe the ball of fur this thing sucked up out of our "clean" carpet, you could have knitted an afgahn. If you want the highest performance machine, I strongly reccomend this one, it is a monster.

Just out of curiosity, if you get a lifetime filter with it, why do you need another life time filter? Are they his and hers?

Step 1.
Once a month you are suppose to clean the filterr with running water.. while it dries you use the other filter.

Step 2.
Repeat Step 1.
