Truckload of pigs dies after truck overturns
August 25th, 2008 @ 1:20pm
ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) -- About 100 pigs died Monday when a tractor-trailer carrying them overturned in southern Utah.

The truck was carrying about 160 pigs from Milford south on Interstate 15.

The Utah Highway Patrol says the truck took a turn too quickly early Monday morning on the highway near Pintura between Cedar City and St. George.

Authorities say some of the pigs died in the collision while others had to be euthanized.

The driver was not injured, but will be issued a citation for the crash.
