Well It Seems The Economy Is Realy Bad Around Here. Dealerships Around Here, The Bay Area And Sacramento Areas Are Droping Like Flys. Weve Had 2 Close Here Today And Another Maybe At The End Of The Week. There Has Been At Least 30 Dealers Close In The Last Month. Times Are Tuff

But go look for car and no one is dealing. We looked at a Mini & a PT Cruiser last week. Mini's are list (they sell as fast as they come in). The PT was brand new 08 with 15 miles. They tried to charge more than they quoted.
Anyway RSSRTOY....good luck. Hope you're ok out there.

I BELEIVE ILL BE FINE THIS COMPANY SEEMS TO BE RUN VERY WELL. ITS NOT RELYING ON THE BANKS.
I heard on the news that car sales are down 33% last month. The credit squeeze is making it almost impossible for the average Joe to finance a car. I think many will suffer... dealers first, car companies second. I think Chrysler may be next.

GM was down 16%
Chrysler and Ford were down 30% for sales
Many dealerships have closed here without any warning can't survive in this economy Dealerships started closing here two years ago and every time I take a drive I see another building empty!
Wait, let's back that truck up for a moment. After 9/11 the automobile industry went gang busters. They were selling vehicles like never before. I thought there was some reason for all the neat financing terms they offered, zero interest rates, etc. But they sold allot of units. If this was a behind the scenes, government influenced moment, wasn't anyone also to told to set some money aside??

No. There was no money to be set aside. You cannot offer the deals that were being made and still have money to set aside.
It's one more example of the problem with "live for today" thinking in our economy. Everyone wants to have it all, and have it now! When you live hanging on the 'edge of credit' it doesn't take much to cause a fall.

Yes, we live in a hedonistic society. Someone who practices a little forethought and planning can come out way ahead of the rest. Much like Warren Buffett. (sp?)

We have a billionnaire businessman in BC who built his thriving empire with a very simple business plan.
