Ebayers Going Nuts .............

Has anyone else noticed that the Ebay situation re ssr parts & dohickies is getting absolutely crazy? How about the guy that has listed the Chevy SSR Side Saddle Storage Containor GM three times now:
First Time: Start Bid: $700 Buy It Now $3,000
Second Time: Start Bid: $700 Buy It Now $2,000
Presently: Start Bid $675 Buy It Now $19,000

Then theres they guy that has all the Helm Service Manuals available Start Bid $200 each year, Buy It Now for $300 each year, when you can get them from Helm for $135.

Or of course we have the Tow Hitch for $360, Buy It Now for $390 that has been relisted for the second or third time. Whats going on there.?

Sorry I can't post any of the links to these goodies - I don't know how to, but couldn't believe the prices and so forth going on. We're now up to 405 items for sale including a $40,000 show truck that has nothing to do with SSR's and God knows what else.

A Happy & Prosperous New Year to all the SSR Fanatics!!!!!!!!!!
Bob

Has anyone tried to buy an "SSR Hitch" lately. Dealers that have them are selling them for $400.00.

As for the other stuff - welcome to E-Bay (or any weekend flee-market).

They can only sell them for $400 if someone is willing to pay that amount. I hope to eventually purchase one if and when the price comes back to earth.

You will notice that these are typically not Fanatics or even SSR owners. They just don't get it , that we know the real value of these items. They will try to sell these things at high prices for years before they realize that they are overpriced. The "Buy-it-Now" prices that are really high are just an old marketing ploy to make you think the auction price is a good deal. Don't fall for these scams! These people are not here to help out a Fanatic, they're in it for the almighty buck! I would hate to be that type of person. Life is too short to just try to rip off decent folk.

Think before you buy!
John
