True Story

I had a Great Aunt, who was the secretary to the Seceretary of State for seven administrations.

She was a lady of the highest reputation, and lived to be 99 or so. Her funeral was attended by some 400 people, including the then Vice-President. Her popularity, no doubt, was that she kept secrets, like: who like what, when, and where, of not only world leaders and representatives, but American politicians, too. She worked for, and was loyal to, both Republicans and Democrats alike.

When I asked her of her opinion of politicians, she smiled and said, "At least a prostitute knows to stay out of the gutter."

I do not think we should call our politicians "whores", either.

There are no STATESMEN anymore, they're all whores today. . .

. . . to one degree or another. Even President Reagan said politics was the 2nd oldest profession but it had a strong resemblance to the oldest. Both parties will do anything or "anybody" in an attempt to get POLITICAL POWER so they can "push" their agenda on the other half of the electorate. That's what they live for. They are the attack dogs for whatever special interest group financed and bought their public office. They have no other choice, whether it be CORE, NAACP, General Electric, Halliburton, NOW, JDL, AMA, Pfizer, or Exxon. They are WHORES of whatever PIMP organization or business financed them.
And we, the constituency, are frequently caught in the middle without a real government ! ! Its disgusting. From the day a United States Senator is elected, he/she must TAKE IN $40,000 PER DAY EVERY DAY for the next 6 years for his re-election campaign ! !
(sorry for the mild rant, reading Ayn Rand will do that . . . don't get me started)

If I didn't agree with you, I'd be offended. Oh wait...no I wouldn't.
