Fall Color Percentage

Driving home from work today and I can't believe how much color change I'm seeing in my area already. It's going to be a spectacular blaze of color this year as we've had the perfect ingredients for it a succession of warm, sunny days and cool, crisp but not freezing nights seems to bring about the most spectacular color displays.

It begins with a slow dance of turning leaves, and crescendos in a trillion trees aflame. This show is appropriate for all ages. This show is Pure Michigan. Admission is free..........get out and enjoy it

This is the time of the year I most like taking off in the to visit a cider mill do some apple picking and take in the cool crisp fresh air, partake in a blaze of spectacular colors in total amazement.

I'll be out and about over the next two weeks with camera in hand and will post back with some color changes happening here, In the meantime enjoy some fall color pics off of the Pure Michigan website......percentage in my area is 10-20% with 50% coverage more north than me. How's the colors coming along in your area?

Just the Reverse it turns green in the winter and spring, June through November its Golden. Thats why Gold and the Grass give us the Golden State LOGO.

I'll post some pic's after the first fall Rain. We do have our four seasons but it only shows up in the Mountain Area's. We are surrounded by Mountains on Three sides.
It is Beautiful to see all the Snow and not be in it.

Lucky you Deb... As much as I love it here, that's the one thing about living in Florida I miss. There's nothing better than the sights, feel and smell of fall up north.

About 10% here. A spectacular color season is predicted.
Fall is my favorite so I am ready to enjoy it. A new classic car show premeires this weekend in Maggie so that should be fun. Also a quilt show.

I am going to get some pix one afternoon next week. I have a bike group here all week so no sneaking out right now.

There is nothing more beautiful than a hand made Quilt. I have several of them. I store them in a 1920's Le Salle Trunk. It's a Beautiful old Trunk too. I wish I had the Car it came off of.

That brings back some wonderful memories. I helped my Dad make a Quilting Frame for my Mom. I helped her sew the squares together. The Best was a Wedding Ring Quilt.
Because we were poor my Mom made us Shirts to wear and our under Shirts were made from Flour sacks. I helped Mom make several Levi Quilts. Man they were hard to sleep under. I think they weighed a Hundred pounds.
I also helped my older Sister and Mom cut out Dress Patterns for the younger Sisters. I learned to Sew on a Singer Pedal Sewing Machine. I Have that Machine to this day.
I Sewed most all the Upholstery for my TR-6 Roadster. Its the one that is in my Avatar with the SSR.

There were Eleven Kids in my Family.
