Gift Exchange, Maggie Valley, 2007

As mentioned in a previous thread, I want to do a gift exchange instead of a raffle this year. Both were done in Laughlin and when you do both, it is very time consuming. This is not something that anyone is required to participate in, but PM me if you intend to so I can keep up with it.

Guidelines:

- A minimum dollar value of $25. No maximum, up to the individual.

- The gift can be one of three categories:
(a) Something related to your state or region that could be enjoyed by anyone.
(b) Something SSR related that YOU HAVE MADE YOURSELF. The reason for this
is because so many of the fanatics already have a lot of the SSR
merchandise and they may end up with something that they already have
at home. This makes it so much more personal to.
(c) Some other gift that you have made yourself that you think another fanatic
might enjoy. Lots of talent on this site and here is your chance to show it
off.

A number will be placed on each item. Matching numbers will be placed in a container. Each participant will come up and draw a number and you will receive the item with that number on it. Each gift will have the name of the person that brought it on the item. This is so we can keep up with who you got your gift from. Also you will know who got yours. You may have questions about it or want to thank them personally.

I agree with you two, I'm gonna be crafty to. In fact I have an appointment tomorrow at 11 AM to start mine. I am going to get it done before I go back to Maggie Valley. No time then.

That was my first time participating in a gift exchange and there is always room for improvement. Just like there will be newer and better ideas and changes after this one I'm sure. Several were disappointed in not knowing who got their gifts or where they went to. Also, picking out the gift when your # was called took extra time. This way it cuts down on the time involved for that.
