Tell me how can a "Major" Automaker not have a viable minivan in there stable? If they would make a good one they would sell. It seems that GM would rather blame a shrinking market instead of there inferior attempts at making a salable van. The fix isn't more cross overs GM, its a better more competitive van product. By the time GM and Ford get there cross overs to market the market will be flooded with them already.

Yeah,..! It almost Christmas... and its been 2 weeks since your last GM witch hunt. You must have been havng the DT's...

J.D. Power and Associates sees mini-van sales falling to 850,000 by 2010 as more buyers migrate to crossovers, car-based models that look like sport-utility vehicles but ride more like sedans.
"[Crossovers] have the functionality of a mini-van but in a different styling package," said Jeff Schuster, Power's forecasting director. "The sliding doors are extremely useful, but once a vehicle has them, it's a mini-van with the image of a `Mom-mobile,' and nobody wants that."
Aparently J.D. Powers sees this as a good idea, but what do they know, they are only a multi-billion dollar company. If only they had someone more level headed lke yourself to show them the "right way" to do things.

The problem with JD powers is the logic. What if you DON'T style a Minivan like a frumpy Mommy Mobile like GM and Ford did? Hey maybe they would sell,, Ya Think? If the sliding doors are "extremely useful" why get rid of them? DUH! Im guessing that the Minivan is costlier to produce with its sliding doors etc. The crossover has a higher profit margin and less content and is more car based. It seems that GM is only interested in how they can shake more dollars out of our pockets and give us less content for more $ by calling it a, "Crossover" Looks like a 4 door hatch back or station wagon to me.
Thanks ricochet....how would GM survive without you??? Of course I am sure you are more knowledgeable and have more experience in the automotive industry than anyone at GM corporate. Are they beating down your door yet to offer you a position?

Your post's obviously cause great suffering among those who read them, so you are invited to my house anytime to wash my SSR and show your compasion. Oh... and I have a few items on my honeydoo list you can take care of too if you don't mind!
I would comment on urging you to please, don't be concerned that your cup is half full or, even half empty....just thank God you have a cup man! If you like the competition so much, then go buy their products and bash on their forums! What are you anyway, a glutton for punishment? In case you have not noticed, this is a GM ENTHUSIASTS SITE!!!!!!!
Mike you never answered my question in that other post. Will installing your fan/& radiator product void my warranty? If not will you warranty any possible engine failures just in case GM says it did??
Well JD is a paid for evaluation, so if not positive they get less business. They choose the people or just use the ones that work and so they will not be calling Ricochet back again.
Hey Ricochet you're OK by me.
Call a spade a spade. Gas is going up and here comes the Camero. Bet they scrap it. It's 1972 -73 all over again.

Mike,
You're in luck - you have an opportunity to be added to the list of people Ricochet can send his hired legal guns after.

I said it once & I’ll say it again, why do you care!!!

Well rumor has it,.. that he will never have to worry whether or not Mkes radiator or fan will ever void his warranty...
However,I have already made mention my service techs were not only very impressed with my after market fan that they wanted to know where to get on or direct people if they ask. I told them both places,.. JimG and Mike.
I find it quite ironic that you live in Downers Grove. I ponder whether the town was named Happy Grove until your arrival? Much as this is becoming Downers Forum. You're bringin us down man!
I would have liked to buy a Huge SUV also, then I thought of the environment. Im happy I didn't now.
You worry about the environment but yet you own, and drive a SSR? I guess the great mileage the vete gets makes up for your purchase though. So if you get better gas mileage does that mean you drive more often and further distances therefore using as much or more gas as my Tahoe or SSR?

Careful, Ole Yeller. I mentioned the same thing quite a while back, and it put Rico in bad mood - It's much better if he can be his upbeat jovial and optimistic self.

I never wanted a mini van of any make or model, Got my Tahoe and love it, door that don't slide , Third row of seats if I want So I don't really care!
Ya know, speaking of Soccer-mom-mobiles, one thing GM did about the Tahoe/Suburban that I do not like is get rid of the "barn" doors. I do not like the lift hatches.

When I ordered my 2001 Tahoe 4x4 back in summer of 2000, there were 4 things that created a problem getting it....
1) Bench seat in front
2) "New" dark red metallic color
3) 4.10 gears
4) Barn doors
I understand the 2001 was the last of the barn doors and I don't know why.... Possibly that they were more expesive tomake than the lift hatch. We love 'em. My big concern is that the upcoming replacement (our Tahoe has 105K miles now) will not have the bench seating..... I've had to give up on the doors.
Later
Mike
