A HOT rental car
Doing some recurrent training in Florida for the week and we needed a rental car. Stopped by Hertz to get our car, and saw a Shelby Mustang Convertable sitting outside. Drop the rental contract on the rice car and took the Shelby Mustang for the week.
What a ride. This car has it all from the get go.
If you have a chance to rent one from Hertz, do it. You will not be disappointed.
We opened the hood to take a peek, and found Hertz had a security wire and lead seal on a wire from the fender panel to the engine to make sure someone did not take the engine out of the Shelby and install it in there Mustang for a wild week end of racing.
This car has put a smile on our face all week when we have been out of school. We do a road trip every evening as soon as school gets out. Almost as much fun as driving the R.

This very much explains the anwser to the "Why is everybody Selling" Thread Why is everybody selling?
My wife and I rented the hard top version of the Hertz Shelby when we went to Florida last fall. It rained like heck almost every day and we only got to put about 80 miles on it in dry road driving. The ride on ours was really harsh and I cringed whenever i saw a bump coming. The engine was pretty strong and it had plenty of get up and go but I personally found it left me cold. The SSR still makes me giddy when I drive it, so that is my barometer for whether I should keep it.

drove a Shelby and a Saleen prior to buying the GT and was ready to buy any one of the 3 (loved them ALL) and still keep the cost of gas $$$ won out and ended up with the 300 HP GT...it sits next to the in the driveway
hmm...very interesting. May have to go out and test drive one. My first car back in high school was a '67 Mustang (blue coupe with the 289 V8 Auto). I usually stay within GM as I can obtain the employee discount (which on certain models can be pretty substancial when combined with cash rebates).

Sorry guys, we did not think to bring a camera with us since we where going to be in school.
But we put 400 miles on the Shelby. The 4 days with INSURANCE was $180 per day (company expense).
My partner did a google search and found out how to take shut off the TC and the car came to life big time.
As for the ride in the convertible, it was OK, and what I expected for this type of car.
Would I sell the SS/R or purchase a Shelby Mustang like this probally not.
Would I rent this car again, probally not.
Did I smile a lot, you bet.
Did we get thumbs up, yes.
Back to work on Saturday.
They Are A Nice Car, But They Are A Little Hard Riding. Also Comming Home Tonight I Saw A Silver Rouch 427r In An Accedent. Dont Know Whos At Fault. But The Drivers Side Was All Crushed In Not Bad But It Still Had Its Paper Plates On It. Thats Got To Really Suck. Being New And Already Needs To Go To The Body Shop.
