Well as most of you have know and have read by now. We had a devistating house fire on saturday. The wife and i are fine. As we were not home at the time. I live up north here working and the wife lives down south at that house in victorville.
My wife just happend to be in redwood city working at the time and was not home. I thank god for this as my wife tends to get home very early in the mourning and sleeps most of the afternoon.
The fire department determend that it started in the attic from an electrcal short and started most likely around 11am. This give me chills just thinking about what could have happed.
The house is a total loss as most of our belongings. My wife clouths all she has is what she packed for work. Ive lost all my tool boxes and hand tools plus all my die cast and hot weels just over 10,000 of them. But will see what can be salvaged out of it. The wifes doll collection and all her sewing stuff. All the bedroom furnature living room stuff i dont really care about that stuff as it is only material things.
But what cant be replaced is all of are grand daughters dannis stuff. As most of you guys know we lost her a few days before christmas of 2010 from lukimia. We had all her toys still wraped for christmas and other stuff. Thats what pulls on my heart the most.
All the animals were rescued by animal rescue during the fire. They were going in and out of the house while the fireman were still batteling the fire (my hat is off to them for that) all but the two cats still havent found but im sure they will turn up soon. Two of the dogs got sinnged but will be fine and the turtels shell got burnt. All animals were taken to a vet and given what care they needed and given to our daughter. With no charge. Thank you.
Well this house was a rent to own so insurance will take care of the house. But we had droped the contents insurance part as we were in a bind and had to tighten are belts. We wernt thinking of fire we were thinking of theft and with all the dogs we figured we were safe....not.. Oh well we will just start over no biggie.
So we will over come this set back.
I thank god that my wife and even my grandson (as he come in and feeds the animals) was not home at the time. I feel blessed that noone and no animal was lost in this fire.
Thanks to everyone for there support and prayers.
Mark (rssrtoy)
UPDATE: MY WIFE WAS GOING THRU THE HOUSE AND FOUND ONE OF THE CATS UNDER THE COUCH. IT WAS HER FAVORITE AND THE OLD LADY SHE WAS 17 I THINK. A WHITE ANGORA I THINK. HER NAME WAS DIAMOND. ALSO WAS TOLD YESTERDAY THAT THE RABBIT DIED ALSO HER NAME WAS HONEY BUNNY. SO WE ARE STILL MISSING ONE CAT HER NAME IS DAVID.
Thank God you were not home , what a shame but as long as you and your wife are ok you will get back to somewhat of a normal life. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Hi Mark,
So sorry to hear about your loss, if there is anything we can do to help from afar, please let us know! Glad to know that all are safe. You will be in our thoughts and prayers.
Ok, Mark... You've got the entire gang here to support you. We're a bunch of misfits, but we're here, and ready to help.
In the coming days, gather yourself up and take the "big picture" view of this mess and start some strategic planning. Don't get mired in the details. Don't look at the chaos that surrounds you, take the higher-level look at where you want to be in a year. Once you have that objective, start putting a plan in place to accomplish the goal. Make an outline, IT WILL HELP.
Here's the important part.........
SHARE YOUR PLAN WITH US.
Once you have shared your goal and the outline of how you want to get there, we'll be able to help without your asking. You need to let us know what the major obstacles are.
Mike, I am so sorry to hear what has happened. I had such a nice talk with you last year when I was still learning about my new SSR. I purchased it in Antioch, were you use to live, and shipped it to Maine. Your son was stationed at the Kittery Naval Station then and I told you about the Kittery Naval Museum in town and encouraged him to go see it. We also talked about your granddaughter as my father was struggling with leukemia as well.
You were so helpful and reassuring. I truly appreciated it. If there is anything I can do please consider it done. I know Maine is awfully far from California but if a car can be shipped across the country just about anything can be. Especially hopeful thoughts and wishes for better things to come. You and your wife are in my thoughts and will continue to be.
Sorry to hear of your loss, glad all are ok. We too had a major house fire about 4 years ago, wifey was trying to go to sleep and i was on my way home from work. if she had actually fallen a sleep at her normal time that night we would have lost her. Good old state farm paid for 3 months in a motel and a total rebuild of our upstairs. we were very lucky, but the process really wears you out getting it all redone ....roger
