Got up REAL early because . . .
. . . yesterday, printer took a crap on me right in the middle of an important document for my accountant and the upcoming audit from my comp carrier !
Went to Best Buy last night, picked out a terrific (I thought) HP printer, copier, scanner for $149, used a Best Buy gift card I got from one of my manufacturers, so only cost me $99. So far so good, right ?
Friggin' CD that came with the printer to load the device drivers on my puter "isn't digitally signed or not signed in the appropriate manner" (whatever, to hell that means). Sooooooooo, being a computer whiz (tongue firmly implanted in cheek ), I went to HP's site and started to download the drivers from their site.
I've got a hot broadband cable connection (frequently tests at 4.3 megabytes per second), but was amazed it was only downloading at 60-100 kilobytes per second. This device driver program must be huge as it estimated the time to be over an hour, so I just let it run all night.
Upon awakening, I read that the download had failed with 96% loaded. GRRRrrrrrrr ! ! !
Now have to run to Best Buy for a CD fix or take the whole mess back and get a refund. I just hate crap like this. These devices are supposed to SAVE US TIME, not turn it into a friggin' PROJECT ! !
The irony of this situation, I bought my current printer for $49.99 2 years ago with a $20.00 rebate (that's cheaper than the ink that came with it) and it loaded and worked perfectly for 2 years ! ? ! ?
Will salvage the rest of the day, however. Will pick up my son and go to a Texas Hold'em Tournament this evening at the Moose Lodge. Placing 1st and 2nd respectively we'll have lots of loot . . .
I have to say that mine pretty much mirrored 89 Rod!
My actual first task of the day was actually going to work so I could perform a hardware repair on one of our routers. It's crashed a few times over the past month because one of the modules was failing. I didn't take the because they were calling for rain today with no indication of when. Turns out it didn't come down until after 4PM.

I got a frantic call at 2:00 AM from our neighbor Julie (one of 3 only 'hotties' in our 20 home rural community). A water line in their newly renovated master bathroom had blown and hot water was spewing out from under one of the sinks. She couldn't find the main shut off valve so I had to get out of bed and run over to help. I did mange to find the valve and turn off the water but by the time I got there water was running from the second floor through the cieling to the main floor and all the way down to the basement.
"like a good neighbor" (sing the State Farm song) We did manage to get the worst of it cleaned up as she told me her husband is out of town and her kids were all gone for the night so I was a "real hero" for helping her out.
So here we are at 2:30 in the morning, her in a night shirt, me in a tee shirt and jeans, both half soaked with the atmosphere hot and humid like you would find in a jungle after a rainstorm.
up early to decorate the trailer for Opening Day Baseball Parade, very cold and the wind was blowing 20 -40 MPH all day. Froze my butt off at the ball field 2 games
But got to go out to dinner with hubby and friends
I got up at 4am and drove (not the SSR) with my youngest brother (who is not really all that young anymore) round trip from Tallahassee, Fl to Little Rock, Arkansas to pick up a 1983 Honda CB1000 custom motorcycle. Got home at 7 am Sunday Morning. Had great rib dinner in Memphis and saw 1 SSR during the trip - a good looking UV at an intersection in Memphis - a welcome sight for sore eyes.
