I can jam a stick in the ground and grow a tree! Seems I do have a green thumb after all
Oh, and I grow weeds real good without even trying. Does that mean I have two green thumbs

HRG's Garden

My garden is always changing with colors.....in the spring purple, pink & white. Summer: yellow, reds, orange, white and pinks. Fall: burnt reds, coral, white, yellows.
Many of the colors have come and gone...right now my yard is getting ready for it's next color change.
It's a cloudy day here with rain early this morning.

I put the name of the flower in the pics....in case any of you are interested in some.

I am in full sun most of the day and need to watch what I plant as I also have some very dry locations in the yard. Watering a 1/2 lot gets costly.

HRG's Garden

I just cut back my yellow & red miniture roses (no color to take a pic)

We have had a lack of rain here and this year I have seen more instects I have never seen here in MI. Must be due to the warmer temps. They attacked my Clematis's.....just finished a spray treatment on them.

Last picture is a shrub but I can't remember the name of it

My Gazebo

My favorite place to be to enjoy the three seasons here. Steve built me this Gazebo last year and we enjoy our time together out here. We have just added the newly landscaped area around it (finishing it last weekend). I still have more flowers to add to it and mulch.

I also have a pond just behind the Gazebo so when the pumps running and the water trickles it leaves a very relaxed atmosphere. Here you can also see some of my garden statues.

We have a sandy area just in front of it where the grandson enjoys a sandy play area when he visits. A fire pit is also in the area for night gatherings.

Thanks Rod.....we are still debating on a another pool (built in this time) or a hot tub. I'm still trying to landscape the area so I'm not rushing to do anything yet.

Lanscape Area's

My 1/2 acre lot flows beautifully with landscaping area's all around it. The last picture both corners of my lot match with the landscaping being the same.

The wisteria vine was a gift for Mother's Day last year from my son. It has beautiful purple flowers on it that only last a few months. This is pretty much the view we see from the Gazebo. You realy have to see it as pictures don't do it justice. I'm still trying to finish up the mulch so bare with me some area's are not mulched yet.

It's rained so much here that I don't have much of a garden this year. Can't even keep up with the weeds. The native plants(Texas) have done pretty well, but the storms really messed up my roses and the constant wet has caused lots of black spot and fungal infections. Oh well, maybe I'll have better luck next year. Did have tomatoes and peppers, but too wet to cultivate.

You guys are so talented!! Some serious green thumbs around here!! I've always loved gardening... haven't done much of it in the last couple years. Fortunately, what I did plant.. has thrived with minimal attention. But here are some of the highlights...(Still waiting for my foxgloves to come up... they are taking forever this year...)

You guys asked for it. I am going to show this thread to Carolyn so I don't have to listen to... I really like blah blah but it is in a bad spot and can you move it here.

Nice pictures... I recognized a couple.
