Our Weber 1100 Natural Gas BBQ is going on 14+ years now & this AM, we were out shopping for replacement parts such as flavor bars and the push button ignition system. We couldn't find either of the items we need so we'll have to order them. Even the little convenient tables & trays along the sides are starting to look like sh*t ... so guess those need replacing too.
The more I look at it, the more I think it time to dump it and just get a new one.
I have a Char-broil charcoal grill which I think the kettle and cover are aluminium. I have had this grill for 23 years. It is so old I cannot get replacement grids. The other items ie. ash pan and charcoal grill I have been able to jerry rig to fit my needs. I am in the middle of moving to Texas where we have a gas grill. I am still in Kansas using the charcoal grill. I am torn between throwing the grill away when I leave or carrying it with me to Texas when my house here in Kansas sells. I cannot say for certain but I think food tastes better when charcoal is used.

I rebuilt my Weber at 15 years. I got stainless steel favor bars and grill on Ebay, and misc parts on Amazon. They are holding out much better than the Weber OEM. It cost me less than $150 bucks, and I wound up with a better than new grill.

Mine Weber's going on 11 years old now. Still got the original burners and grills (cast iron!). I've replaced the ignitor (once), flavor bars (several times), and the gas supply hose (once).

Hmm.... since I've gone through 3 or 4 sets already... that's probably what I'll do next too.

I'll echo the Weber comments... My natural gas Weber 1100 is 15 years old... Original burners. Original cast-iron grills. I replaced the flavour bars with the stainless-steel version about 5 years ago. The ignitor was also replaced then, although it was still working! Someone down the street was throwing one out, so I scavenged the burners and valves...just in case... I wish it made a few more BTUs, but it fires every time I click the ignitor My Broil King (same price as Weber at that time) was finished after 5 years. I don't think its ignitor worked for more than a year
Guess I'll keep it and rebuilt it with whatever I can find.
I just order stainless-steel flavor bars that I found on ebay. Now I need to find the right size ignition ... Too many & I'll most likely get the wrong one.

My Ducane Natural Gas Grill is about 20 years old. Ducane got bought out several years ago by Weber I think. Replaced most of the internal parts about 6 years ago. Now model specific parts are next to impossible to find. Will be forced to rebuild with universal parts or replace entire unit on the next go around. However the wife sez it is good for another year. In Houston we grill some every month.

No gas... Kettles only...ave rebuilt several older Webers from vintage parts, and Weber has been most generous with providing new parts, but both the gas grills and kettles are overseas of manufacturing. My new Gold Kettle is American made, but that could be the box! Either way, I love it!

The very first thing I did on my new Weber was indirect-fire smoke a Thanksgiving turkey. I didn't pay much attention to what I was doing, used only one charcoal starter load of charcoal split offside, had a drip pan, and used a charcoal/mesquite mix, sort of forgot about it other than basting it in a beer or two, the fire burned out... so 4 1/2 hours later we ate the most amazing smoked turkey... and I still couldn't tell you how I really did it!

I can't tell you the name of mine, but I can tell you it was built in Texas. It has a smoker box built on one side, then a charcoal pit in the middle with an adhjustable grill, and finally on the otther end it has a gas grill. I've had it for 14 years, and recently replaced the gas briquets and new electronic starting mechanism.
Most of the box is steel with Fireplace black painted on it, the top is all stainless.

I bought a new Weber stainless Genesis grill last yr. Replaced an older Weber that we used since the '80s and still got someone to buy it from me.
New one has the stainless grill tops and I'm not real sure that I like them as well as the cast iron tops that were on the older one. You can get porcelain covered cast iron tops but I'm not sure that would be better on not so.........
Consumer Reports continues to rank Webers as about the best grill out there.

I currently have a Weber Performer .....coals with small can of fuel & burner to get them going. Also have a Ducane mounted to a deck with a natural gas line set up..
It pays to buy a good one. As the slogan goes....buy your last grill first.

I think my cast iron top will outlive those newer stainless units that they're selling now. I'm keeping mine going as long as I can find some parts without spending a large amount of $.
