After seeing that 67 Nova Custom on BJ last night that sold for $135,000, I came across this article just this AM on the Chevy Hardcore web site.

If Only Chevrolet Had Built The El Camino From a Nova… - ChevyHardcore.com

I'd love to get myself a Nova ... maybe one of these days.

Could it have started life as a station wagon before the mods?

impressive well done conversion.

To bad I never cared for the ChevyII or Nova. They always seemed like little old lady cars to me.

I really don't like to pick apart any design of a vehicle where someone has put great effort into their design, but not so sure I agree with this one. The SSR is a truck. This is a car for sure, yet it seems with the squared roof design wants to be a truck. Being as it started life as a station wagon I forgive the designer/builder, and fortunately he did not take apart a 2dr H/T to do this.
I should add that with the square design of the car I am not sure the builder could have done anything differently, but somehow it just doesn't look right to me. It has been in more than one magazine so obviously not everyone shares my opinion.
BTW, I have never considered the El Camino as a truck. It has always been a car IMO.
