iTunes memory hog
I don't know if anyone here uses iTunes with a PC but I was having a problem since I upgraded iTunes to 10.5 a couple of weeks ago.
When I open iTunes the computer would just stall. It would take several minutes for every mouse click.
Also my iPhone would take forever to sync if it did at all.
The program Apple Mobile Devices was hogging half of my ram all the time.
After uninstalling and reinstalling a few times like the online answers stated nothing fixed the problem.
Well I found this today.
It was easy and it worked.

here is the post and great tip
After the recent iTunes update (10.5) I noticed the
AppleMobileDeviceService.exe
was suddenly chewing up CPU – everything still seemed to be working, I could still sync devices, it was just grinding the PC towards an early grave.
A bit of Googling suggested it’s a common problem and previously a reinstall of iTunes was the suggested fix – unfortunately this didn’t work for me, nor it would seem for a lot of people at version 10.5.
What did work for me was doing a
netsh winsock reset
from a command prompt (as Administrator) followed by a reboot.
Apparently the Windows TCP/IP stack can get corrupted and this will reset the Winsock Catalog to its default state – i.e. one that works properly.
It certainly fixed my iTunes problem and as a bonus the PC now boots faster and general network performance seems to be improved – one to remember!

Duplicate music fix
As you can see I have some free time on my hands.
Somehow my wife's iPhone had duplicate songs on it.
I tried unchecking the songs in iTunes and syncing the phone.
Even with the entire library unchecked the duplicate songs were still on her iPhone.
I tries searching for the answer and after reading several threads about not being able to delete songs directly on the iPhone I found this last post on a thread.
"Hey no worries...i just deleted all my music from my iphone in seconds....
Go to the Music tab in your iPhone4 select Songs....
instead of tapping the song and it playing, drag your finger across the song title to the right ->this will pull up a delete button...
tap it and its off your phone."
I deleted all the songs that were left on the iPhone. Rechecked the playlists in iTunes and resynced the phone. No more duplicates.
