Well.... I'm working building a new server here. The power outage last night seems to have aggravated the failing drive in my web server. So.... going to get the new one finally built and put on line. Gotta keep the SSR commercials going!

Silly dave, the roof does go up to keep you dry!

Rainy and gloomy here. I like rain, just not on week-ends, it hurts business.
I have had a customer here all week that left this morning. He has been staying with me for about 8 years. They own a cheese/meat deli in Cinncinnati. He loves to cook and always wants room 18 right by the pavilion so he can cook every night. We ate with them a couple of nights this week.
Anyway when he leaves every year he always leaves me a lot of good stuff he doesnt want to lug home. He left me 8 different kinds of cheese, probably about 3 pounds. This is the good stuff to. I just fixed myself a cheese plate and poured a glass of Merlot.
I'm going to invite some of my girlfriends over one afternoon next week and have a wine & cheese party out by the pool.

As for it being Friday, . This is the last Friday of the federal Fiscal Year, and the contract I am on is up for recompete. The contract expires on Tuesday. It sounds very positive that our team will win the new contract, but the task orders will not be in place for us to continue work beyond Tuesday. I guess it's good that it will be a rainy weekend, as I have contract work to finish up. The dogs are doing great, Dave's holding his own, and I will be very happy when Election Day is over with! Happy Friday all! Hope everybody has a good weekend, and for those of you who will be enjoying some topless driving, think about us on the East Coast with this Nor'easter. And, hopefully, Kyle stays WAY OUT in water!
What day and time for the wine and cheese party, Gina? I'm there. I'll find a good Merlot to share. Oh, and I DO like Elvis' music, so crank up the tunes and let's dance! But not to the slow songs.

If another company wins the bid, don't they normally hire the employees from the previously Co?
That what I've seen from year to year out here at NAWCWPNS Point Mugu CA before I retired earlyer in the month.

That's what I normally see. Kinda strange when you think about it. The incumbent is "kicked out" because the govt doesn't think they're performing well, and what happens... the new one comes in and hires up most of the lackeys from the previous contract!
Although... I can't necessarily call myself a lackey as that's happened to me 5 times now. However, other contractors did transition over people I thought should have never been in the IT business at all!
