At 77 years of age, my Mum passed on Saturday at 8:22pm at home. We were fortunate to have brought her home from the hospital about a week and a half ago from a blood infection and complications from Alzheimer’s. We hoped she’d rally, but alas, it was her time. We called hospice around 4pm, a wonderful nurse came and helped us guide us, but left around 7:30pm because Mum was so comfortable and not in any pain. My Mum was so comfortable they didn’t have to bring out the heavy drugs.
We did what we do best, sat around told stories, laughed and “carried” on and I know Mum somehow absorbed what was going on. My Dad just held her and caressed her for her last hours here on earth as we all talked and laughed. She slipped away so peacefully….
What an amazing woman I was so fortunate to call my Mum.

Mum is as at peace now and heaven surely just received another angel. I am really glad I got to meet your Mum.

Its always dreadful to hear about someone's parent passing on. I was also a child of a parent who died from complications from Alzheimers. You will always have the fond memories your mum, as I am sure that is what she would prefer you remember her by. You have our condolences as you take the next step in you life without her. The Lord was kind and called your mother home quietly and with as much peace as He could. The warmth and tenderness of the family around her was surely felt as she transitioned to Him. God bless you and give you peace, my friend.

Sorry to hear of the loss of someone so special to all of your family. Lost father in law a couple of months ago, it isn't easy no matter how much you are prepared.
Wonderful you were all there to help her transition and without pain.
All the best with the healing, and with the many wonderful memories that you must have of a special light that was your mother. Take special care of your Dad through this as well!

I too agree with Gina about the amazing daughter ....you surrounded her with love and care, no better way to leave this life and enter a new one knowing she has the support to move on.
