One Jacket Down, hopefully one more for tomorrow...
We are in DC this weekend for the US Finals for Cheer and Dance. Shelby's dance team just rocked the floor and won in their division, hense the Champion Jackets. They went into the competition ranked fourth. So proud of them!!! So far her gym has taken 2 first place, 1 second and a fourth. Really good so far for a competition of this size. Tomorrow she competes in cheer and they are ranked number 1 for their level. So its their's to loose. Hopefully not.
They best part of the day was when Shelby's coach gave her sister a US champion's jacket as well. For those of you that dont know, Taylor has Cebral Palsey and is confined to a wheelchair. She actually competes on a Special Needs Cheer team at Shelby's gym which she loves. Was really cool to include her as part of the team.

Cant wait for tomorrow.
In the Theatre I would say "Break a Leg". Translate that to whatever is proper and pass it on to the team. Hope to hear that they are winners again in your next post.

Well they just performed the best routine yet this year. Just when we thought we had it wrapped up, they came in third. Oh well. Still very proud of shelby and her teammates.

I am sure they gave it their best and that is what counts. Congratulations to all for a job well done. They place better than most.

Suzy just went back to the convention center to watch our final team perform and the coaches pulled her aside to tell her the point difference from Shelby's teams.
Dance
-Won by 22 points. That is HUGE
Cheer
- 2 points behind 2nd place
- 6 points behind first
That is incredible since they performed flawlessly and the teams that beat them were most 12-13 year old girls. Most of Shelby's teammates are 9 or 10 years old. Should be on heck of a season next year. oh ya, that starts in 2 weeks .
I bet if they worked hard at it they could make it so the season started before the POST-season ended. Result: NO VACATION!
Well the new seasons tryouts are in two weeks, then team placements, then practice. But in between are a bunch of conditioning and skill clinics. So in reality, no vacation. Man I can't wait for her to go to college!!!!!!
