The Pot Holes Blues
The Pothole Blues
Again, I've got the pothole blues,
and that, to me, is not good news.
The roads are rough, their craters wide,
and chew your tires, from side to side.
I went to work the other day,
driving my brand new Chevrolet.
I hit a pothole, what a scare.
Lucky for me, I had a spare.
My rim was bent, my tire was shot -
a shock I wished I hadn't got.
Yes, dodgem season's here this year,
when brave men quake and quail from fear.
So, if you're wise and love your car,
avoid our roads, now under par,
and get yourself some walking shoes.
I did, and lost those pothole blues.
With the up and coming Runs, one just weeks away "Kentucky's Bourbon Trail"
A reminder with the rough Michigan weather we have had this year potholes are everywhere
I'm not to happy about bringing my out just yet as they most likely will not have the roads fixed/repaired by April I can't even explain to some of you how bad it is....I avoid several roads due to pot holes
A reminder to some of you to keep an out for your R's well being as we don't need a hefty tire bill
Try our roads, when the President of the United States complains about them and says to the whole world over the Television. "FIX THOSE POT HOLES" Well you would think that the City of Bakersfield would respond to that comment and fix the roads. This occured last summer and their not repaired yet.
If those pot hole don't get fix anytime soon, would it help any by using 17" or 18" rims?
No you need Conastoga Freight wagon wheels, the larger the diameter the better. More like 5 foot high for Bakersfield, Pi. That my good budy and your talking over 15 foot in circumfrence. That might work!!!

California has trouble listening to a Texas President.
Roads are disintegrating here too now. As we shift from being consistently cold or warm to nighttime freezing and warmer daytime temps, it's taking its toll. Adding to the problem are some roads that have been bad to begin with, or are torn up for utility construction, etc, and it's beating my truck to hell. If a full size pickup can't handle that abuse, a car isn't going to fair very well at all!

What I was trying to address was if you go 17" or 18" rims, your new tires will have additional sidewall to protect the rims from damage.

I'm surprised none of my Michigan buddies have chimed in?
Apparently in Detroit a radio station is giving away a full set of tires for the person who can tell us where the largest pot hole is
While driving to my dad's the other day I hit a double whammy with both front tires in a right turn lane. Had no choice as there was no where to go to avoid them. Most of you are familiar with Van-Dyke from traveling it for the WDC....this road is covered with them I'll avoid it until summer

don't hurt the Boop.......hit a large pot hole and she will have two black eyes
Daylight savings didn't help me one bit this morning. I was on the road at 5:30 am and hit one doozy of a hole. I thought i lost my wheel. I immediately was grinding my rim down and pulled over to my horror the tire was shredded to hell and the rim had a big chunk missing along with the ground up edges.
I was lucky I wasn't on the freeway.

Couldn't tell you. I drive so much that I'm sure that I hit a lot of pot holes. There isn't one specific instance that I remember hitting a particularly bad one. I have known that the front one was out of round since the last set of tires I put on more than 40,000 miles ago. The rear one surprised me.
