Room to Grow
My son and daughter-in law placed bid on a home yesterday (bank owned home) Three bids were placed that day one was wiped out and the bank is looking at theirs along with another one. The real estate agent said there was something not right with the other bid and the bank may not take the offer.....the waiting begins They have established a great credit history and have the 3% required for closing.
The kids are living in an apartment with no room for my grandson to spread his wings.
Your first home is so important Send some thoughts, hopes and wishes this way for the kids. We could sure use it
They almost bought the one next door to me...that didn't pan out as they moved the elderly couple back in after a visit to the nursing home. This home is within a mile from me my grandson would attend the same schools my kids did.

Most of the homes they walked thur the banks don't keep the electricity running in them and many of them had mold growing due to the sub-pump not being able to function. The area they are looking has a (High water table) that's why we have sub-pumps.
This home sold for $230,000 at one time if they can get it and the economy rebounds they will do fine

Wishing upon a dream
The Banks are looking for higher Bids than they are posting for the price of the house. Right now if you bid 20 K above their asking price you may have a chance of getting the house. I have been trying to purchase a larger place and people are bidding as much as 40 K above the asking price. That makes it tough, not knowing what others are willing to pay.

Not here....the banks are flooded with homes They've dropped the price of this one at $7,000.00 three times in the last 120 days

I know Grandma wants the grandson as close as she can get him... A mile is not that bad, mine's over 50 miles away, and I don't get to see him often.
Once again good luck to the kids!!!!!!!

We wouldn't have minded having them next door either but the more I thought about it .....visits' to grandma and grandpa's home wouldn't have been as special....cause he'd be with us everyday
Being close will be nice.....Steve and I are both looking forward to helping them move and fixing up their home to
They visit us frequently and stay late.....they are looking forward to having us over and stay late

Not here!!!!!, AZ is in the top 3 for home foreclosures, only behind Nevada and California. The banks will do just about anything to get a buyer and unload a home.....all neighborhoods and price ranges!

We're seeing this in SoCal as well...problem is the bank can take as long as they want to make a decision. The house next door, 1/2 acre, 2750 sq ft, appraised at $500K and went back to the bank 6 months ago.
Bank listed it for $189 as is, received no less than 3 offers and it still hasn't sold. In the meantime the landscaping is dying out and it has the potential of being vandalized which will affect us directly. I say sell the dang thing and get someone in there to take care of it
Good luck to the kids HRG...I wish mine were so lucky. Odds are they will NEVER own a home as they live in Los Angeles.

I've got my fingers crossed for them, but if it doesn't work out.. let them know there are lots of homes for sale in our area. I see it as a win / win situation. That way we can see more of you and Steve!

Don't know about Texas....I guess I'll get a feel for that in June.
According to the World News there are 2.2 Mil homes in forclosure
Now would be the time to buy my dream home......but then I couldn't sell mine with the way the market is
