Mark, I'm so sorry to hear of your family's loss.

This happened to me a long time ago. The woman below my apartment fell asleep while smoking. I was an avid furniture restorer at the time, and lost a large two bedroom apartment crammed full of deco and depression era "stuff", dining sets, vintage pottery, gas tanks glass, hat collection, all of the art from my childhood, etc. It took me several years to even begin collecting again, and now I usually leave stuff I collect in it's original condition.

I hope for a faster recovery for you.

That's some bad news alright. But, most stuff can be replaced. Family heirlooms and photos... that's a loss that's tough to bear. The good thing is nobody died from it.
