Slight 204 mile Detour...

Little did I know that my trip to work at Hoover Dam would cause a 204
mile detour by way of Kingman to Bullhead Searchlight .then home. This is usually
a 10 to 15 minute trip on a normal day.Needless to say I am tired!!

Strong winds caused a construction crane to topple across the road...
at about 3:30 pm causing quite a commotion to say the least. It took 3 1/2
hours for the drive home as traffic was backed up in Bullhead City to get to
highway 93.

Enclosed a few pics..the sun was setting on one of the pics.

Wow

Glad no one was hurt.

That bridge will help out the traffic issue on the dam. Its about time they built it. I'll have to take a drive out there and see the progression.

Hover Dam Open

The crane that fell on the US Hwy 93 closed the Dam but crews now have the area open to traffic. Good news to those who are traveling in or out of Vegas.

You work at the dam but had to go all the way around and come in the other way!!! Now that sucks!

I was also told th troopers were out in force between Searchlight and Boulder.

I came thru there on Sept. 7 during a storm with high winds, and that very same crane at the hair pin was rocking back & forth. The construction people were drying to tie it off that bridge pylon. I though then it was going to topple over.
