Exclamation Sold my SSR and my 08 Vette

I want to tell you folks myself before you find out from a new owner. I sold my and my 08 Vette. Between our real estate purchase in Payson (in progess) and my folks medical bills, we needed to free up some cash. It was a choice between putting a mortgage on our home in Mesa (which is paid for) or selling the vehicles. We needed a fullsize truck for the Payson property and that was the reason for the 2010 SilveradoHD purchase. I removed everything from my that I had added except the hood struts and Magnacharger. When things are all done, we will be searching for another SSR and I have every bit of interior and exterior Chrome, gauge pod, saddle bags, extra running boards, windscreen, chrome wheels etc etc boxed and stored for that new R. Right now priorities are my folks and Payson. I am going to continue being a FANATIC and hope you all understand. I am already having withdrawl and nightmares, but I know we did the right thing.

Thumbs up Material things are just that.

God Bless, taking care of family is far more important than what's parked in the garage. It was a blessing to have a buyers for both of your vehicles.

Tough Choices

Debbie and I have had some really difficult times in the last few years and we completely understand how hard some choices are. It will all work out.

You are both part of the SSR family (whether you like it or not) and we are here to give you all the support you can take. You also have a place in my family, as Debbie took to both of you immediately....... Not surprising, as she is a marvelous judge of character.

We're here for you, buddy. Don't stop hanging, here, with us........

Call if you need anything. You know our number.

Good luck to you in everything.

Totally understandable and the thought has crossed my mind over the past two years Honestly my husband wouldn't let me do it while I thank him for that I know in my heart it was something I should have let go

May your new choices in life bring you greay joy and happiness and may another SSR be in your future soon!!

Ditto with the others....

My wife and I sold ours last summer. Didn't really want to...but hopefully we will be buying another in the future, too. We went to the Florida Rally last month and the time we spent confirmed what we already knew, that this bunch of people is what makes owing the SSR even more special. I'm sure you'll find the right one when you start looking again.

Good luck with everything, Jeff.

I can understand your position as well. We've been on a roller coaster the past year ever since Dan was laid off. Each time I go to sell my , the roller coaster surges up and we catch some air, but we're down again since today is Dan's last day of the contract job he accepted a couple months ago--we'll be dipping into savings again. I think I have just been procrastinating on the inevitable. I am likely going to sell mine in the next month or 2 so I can pay off my own hospital bills.

Good luck to you and yours.

I wish, I was hoping you would buy it as it would have made a great parts truck for yours. Truth is, our business is down over 40 percent last year and so far 2010 doesn't look like the recovery year we thought it might be. We still have retained all of our employees but that much revenue loss meant some toys had to go to save good people. Like Jeff, tough choices had to be made but for the greater good. We will be back on top in time and we can buy another R down the road. In the mean time Lynn can drive me around in hers

Sorry to hear... but of course it's the right thing to do. I'm playing the idea around in my mind too. I have my 1st born going off to the university this fall and this is not the time to be an artist. We'll see what happens. In the meantime I hope you stick around... families are forever.

WOW What a shock to hear that you sold your . Just this afternoon while out enjoying a top down drive, I was thinking of how nice it would be to buy your as I know it super clean with all the extras goodies.

Like all the others have said before me, you did the right thing as “family issue comes first.”

Now ... get you’re a$$ into that new Silverado of yours and head over to Doug and Debbie house for dinner tonight & enjoy all the fun with the other SSRFanatic members.

If you don't have Doug's home address, PM me as I have it.

Sheeesh. Anguish. Angst. Sorrow. Apprehension. Tension. But when you weigh Payson and Parents against a automobile the decission becomes pretty clear, though not popular. The bright side is that you can start shopping for one right away.
I know you'll keep in touch.

Understood here also, Jeff.

I'm real close to parting with my truck also. With over 2 years of absolutely NO new home construction, myself and many of my colleagues are "tapped out". We've sold off most of our equipment (at bargain prices) and are slowly fading into the past. For the 4th straight year more people have left California than came here. Entire housing tracts are abandoned in some areas. I have a friend making a small fortune trashing out foreclosed or abandoned homes, changing the locks, and putting up auction signs ! ! The ELITISTS controlling the state government (you know who they are) looking at a 67 BILLION DOLLAR DEFICIT, are apparently just content to raise taxes, increase government employment and bankrupt the State, which will leave nothing but the leeches to prey on each other. Disgusting. I fear California is just a microcosm of what is about to happen to the rest of the country. Meg is too little too late.

Sorry for the rant.

Hey you!! And yet, I'm crazy enough to want to move backto CA- simply to take advantage of the current housing prices and missing family and good weather.
