Speed Channel, My Classic Car in Maggie Valley

For those of you that visited the www.wheelsthroughtime.com during the MV ralley might want to watch this show on Sunday.

Below is an email we got from the museum:

Speed Channel Comes to Maggie Valley

‘Wheels’ to be featured on My Classic Car w/ Dennis Gage

(Maggie Valley, NC)

This Sunday, June 24, 2007, Speed Channel’s hit series My Classic Car comes to Maggie Valley, NC, showcasing the Wheels Through Time Museum, Western North Carolina’s mecca for vintage automobile and motorcycle enthusiasts. The hit show, hosted by automotive guru Dennis Gage, airs Sundays at 8:00 a.m., and comes to Maggie Valley to get a glimpse at one of the World’s best antique automotive and motorcycle scenes, and take a ride in a few of America’s rarest vintage automobiles.

My Classic Car and host Dennis Gage, now in their 11th season, travel the country visiting some of the most prestigious car shows, events, and venues in North America. The series features major automobile shows and collections, with many episodes focusing on celebrities and prolific car collectors. According to the show, “When it comes to the universal passion for the automobile, neither gender nor age is excluded and with Muscle cars, hot rods, local cruise-ins, museums, and more, My Classic Car has something for everyone.

The host of the show, Dennis Gage, is well-known for his seemingly boundless enthusiasm, his trademark “handlebar” mustache, and the catchphrase with which he ends every show, “Honor the timeless classics”.

On his visit to Wheels Through Time, Gage holds true to his catchphrase, highlighting many of the rare and historic automobiles housed the museum. Gage and museum curator, Dale Walksler, also take a ride on the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway in a rare 1930 Cadillac V-16 Coupe, one of the many vintage autos at the museum ready for everyday use. “After driving and riding in this car, it was clearly apparent why Cadillac set the benchmark for luxury and performance for American cars,” said Gage.

Talk show host and comedian Jay Leno, an avid collector of everything automotive, once commented on the “Tonight Show” that My Classic Car was his favorite television program.

Initially broadcast on TNN the show about classic automobiles now airs on SPEED channel, one of America’s fastest growing cable networks and the leader in televised Motorsports. Now in its eleventh season, My Classic Car has received numerous awards, including Industry Recognition Awards, International Automotive Media Awards, and the 2003 State Tourism Award in the Broadcast Travel Media category at the Governor’s Conference on Tourism in Biloxi, Mississippi.

For more information on My Classic Car and the Wheels Through Time Museum, check out the shows website at www.myclassiccar.com or visit the museum site at www.wheelsthroughtime.com.

The Taj Ma Garaj was featured on MCC with Dennis Gage

Althought the SSR was not in the stable when Dennis Gage visisted the Taj, you can view the facility in an abbreviated overview of the half-hour show Dennis and his crew filmed at the facility by going to www.myclassiccar.com
In the upper left-handed header you will see" Episode Information". Simply click the icon and scroll to the bottom of the page.
There you will see:
-< Get Information on Previous Episodes of MCC >-
Clicking there willl take you at the page that highlights previous episodes.
Click on 2005.
Then click on Episode Number 10008.
Dennis was here in November of '05. The filming took place in two of the four buildings, not including either the upstairs or deck.
This was due to our weather here in Dayton at the time as well as the then ongoing construction.
The customization of the SSR and the completion of the Taj took a little detour in 2006 due to a bout with cancer.
Thanks to the "Big Guy" upstairs and the folks doing his bidding down here, I will be posting pics of both of these projects shortly.
Although I am not speaking for Jamie, I am fairly certain he would agree with me when I say, neither of which were as important to me as I had previously thought.

I always make it a point to watch My Classic Car. I saw the episode about the Taj Ma Garaj. As I remember, Dennis drove a Porsche or two from the Garaj.

You're definitely a car guy.
Otherwise I would have said thanks for watching.
Dennis Gage was, in fact, the passenger in the first USA street legal Porsche 959 in the show that you are describing.
He was at the Taj for a fundraiser for the Dayton Wellness Connection, an American Heart Association affiliate.
We spoke only breifly about my collection.
Someone from Dennis' staff called me a couple of weeks later about filming a segment on Porsche.
Surprisingly they do one, read 1, foreign car show a year on MCC.
They showed up in late November, 2005, to film Episode Number 10008.
Dennis a genuine car guy for sure.
He knows his stuff because it is his real life's passion.
Thanks again for checking it out.

My Classic Car

I searched the listings on DirecTV and apparently it comes on the next day on DirecTV.

Here is what the listing says:

My Classic Car, Episode "Wheels Through Time Museum", showing on Channel 607 SPEED at Monday, June 25 2:30 AM EDT

I searched the program on the Speed TV website and came up with these show times and dates:

Wheels Through Time Museum Sun, Jun 24 10:00AM
Wheels Through Time Museum Sun, Jun 24 2:30AM

I almost missed it, but got my DVR set to record it just minutes before the start.

If there's demand, I can rip it from the hard drive and put it up on my web site (unofficially of course).
