SSR Fanatic Cookbook!

Those fanatics that were at the Pike's Peak rally last week heard it first...

Announcing, the SSR Fanatics Cookbook!

The Colorado Fanatics are creating a cookbook and would love your help! We are lucky to have great cooks in our local group and know there are many more among the Fanatics. We were inspired to create a cookbook to capture great memories and recipes and create a fun book we’ll all enjoy.

Our first step is to collect as many recipes as possible and see how many people are interested in buying a cookbook. Next we'll work on the production of the book. The goal is to have the book ready for the holidays. Proceeds from the book will go towards future SSR rallies and activities.

How you can help...
Please submit your favorite recipes. We need lots of them! We encourage each participant to submit 3-4 recipes and recipes can be any type of food. We need at least 300 recipes to create a nice book. Think about those great recipes you’ve shared with other Fanatics!

To submit recipes...
Please send the attach form to me. I've got my contact info on the form. Please write 1 recipe per form. Right now the form is a PDF, but I'll see what I can do to make it a Word file you type in.

The deadline has been extended. Please submit recipes by Aug. 16th. Thanks!

Please feel free to contact me with any questions. I'll be glad to answer them. Thanks for your wonderful recipes and support of this project!!!

You're one of those gifted cooks!

I have a couple of aunts we've had to sit down with and watch them cook and attempt to write down what they do so we don't lose those precious family recipes. Turns out they are the best cooks in the family, too, because they just follow their instincts.

It takes a lot of cooking to develop those instincts. I know some gals nowadays that can't even make themselves a sandwich.

Wow! We are really getting some great recipes in. I have a feeling this will be one of my "go-to" books for all potlucks, family dinners, etc. And we are getting a wide variety, too.

Also, if it's easier, you can just email the recipes, but include the info at the top of the form (contact info, ssr info, and how many books you may be interested in, etc.) We're learning simpler ways to do this as things go on

Let me say a big thanks to those who have submitted already...

I'll continue to add to this thank you list as the recipes come in to recognize all of you great cooks and to let you know I've got your info. If you've sent me recipes and you don't see your name up here, please contact me so we don't miss anyone.

Thanks again!

Cool! I'll have to see if I can put a couple down on paper... I have a killer one for biscuits and gravy, Cheese cake, and I perfected BBQ Ribs a couple summers ago with a home made BBQ sauce - took the best idea's from several chefs and web sites to combine it into a system that produces fall off the bone, melt in your mouth BBQ Doofus Ribs. All three have gotten rave reviews in the past.

In the Eighties and early Nineties I was on a pool league, playing in various taverns. The good ones had jars of pickled eggs and sausages.

Anybody know a recipe for pickling eggs and sausages?

The thing about hagus... you ALWAY have a shot a whiskey before you eat it.. There is a reason for that! ...

I've heard of pickled eggs... but never sauages... are they like breakfast sausages or something...

I can't believe we're talking about "pickling eggs & sausages" right before my Sunday dinner.
