Ssr Totaled!
UPDATE ON MY DECISION AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS POST
Finally got the word this morning. What a relief. We are VERY pleased with the numbers also. I dont want to post all that stuff but if you want to PM me I can tell you more. Nothing signed yet but I wanted to go ahead and post this so I can have all your eyes on the lookout for me.
I hate what has happened to TAZ and dont like treating him like a stepchild but I would never have peace of mind with that SSR again. Every little quirk or rattle would make me think back to the 24 hrs. that it was with the car thief and wonder what he did to it.
Here are my options:
Option # 1
My husband has generously told me that I could have his and that we wouldnt have to get another one. (translation, he gets tired of his toys fast and he could get himself another toy now) I told him that IF I decide to go this route that he would have to completely cut the umbilical cord. I get to do graphics, pinstripes, etc. It would be MINE!!! (yes that is selfish but thats why we had two of them and it was his idea)
Pros-It is a 2006 Final Production Run, chromed INSIDE & OUT. It is very SHARP.
Cons-Its not red, I like bright but I could do some nice graphics and pinstriping and brighten it up. I would have the cash in hand to do something big. Any ideas for this (colors, etc.) on an aqua blur?
Option # 2
Simple, get another one!
Pros-Some good deals out there on new & used ones. I dont mind used if its low mileage and well maintained.
Cons-Here we go again! Plucking down more money on another SSR!
UPDATE:
To narrow things down, I have decided to go with another red. I prefer an '05-'06 with 5000 or less miles. I really like Danny's blur, the only problem is, it is a top of the line Final Production Line that Danny had to pay near sticker for. I just wouldnt want to paint a lot of graphics and pinstripes on it that would mean nothing in the future to anyone else.
I wish I werent so flamboyant.
I would rather do all that to a less expensive version. I am researching now and trying to be patient. But I know what I want and dont plan to wait for long. I want it by the Maggie Valley Run. Patience is not one of my strengths.
So keep your eyes and ears open please!!!!
One other color I do like is the violet. But they were only in '04 I believe. It would take a sweet deal.
Gina. Glad it worked out the way you wanted it to. Better luck this time. Take your husbands R and enjoy it. This way you know what you have. Let him get what he wants. And Yes, It HAS to be yours to do what you want with it. Get that in writing from Mr. Monroe
If your hubby has a good one, then I would take his. Solves a lot of problelms; keeps him happy too. No looking, no phone calls, no hassle! Glad to hear that you got out of it. I don't like the wrecked ones if I can avoid it. Good luck!

Good news Gina (even if it's just a little sad seeing Taz go, but you know someone will probably rebuild him. ).
A final production SSR would be awfully sweet if you think Danny can cut the cord, and I bet you can come up with something really awesome to customize it.
Good News!! I am sorry that all this happened to you... but its good that the insurance company saw the light and totaled it. Whatever you decide to do... I hope it turns out FABULOUS!!
Just for the heck of it... see if you can find yourself a nice new RED one somewhere. If you can't, you can always get your hubby's cast off. You like bright red and probably would never get used to having to own an Aqua Blur. It's too conservative a color for someone who wants and needs to have flashy bright colors.
Go for another RED one and make another Taz for yourself the way you really want it.

Take Danny SSR and tell him to buy something with a backseat just in case you need to hull friends somewere, like out to dinner, bar, etc...
Actually we have two other vehicles besides the SSR. We have a 2002 F150 subercab truck with only 30,000 miles on it and its paid for and an older Bronco we use for running around town so we dont need another vehicle as far as that goes.

Oh.. What do I know...
OK, then use some of the cash for custom SSR goodies and save what you can for early retirement.

I just talked to Danny
You better go find a red one, I think that ambilical cord is going to tough to cut all the way. Plus as sharp as his is, its not red!!

If you can get a new one, go for it! The last were certainly the best, chromed out, two toned, and lots of experience was applied from lessons learned earlier. Whatever you choose, good luck and congratulations Gina!

Gina,
I had the pleasure of meeting you in Laughlin and in listening to you, I am of the opinion ( we all have one... ) that the TAZ was a passion for you just like the tub is for me.
That same passion still lives inside of you (it can't be stolen!) and will never go away. You CREATED the TAZ from that passion and no matter what choice in color you make... That same passion will rise again like the Phoenix and a new improved version of your passion will rise as well. The TAZ will live in your heart (that's the passion part) forever.
Choose from your heart... the choice will be clear when you see it... don't force it as it will just happen... just like before.

Glad things worked out the way you wanted. I hope you eventually get your personal belongings back and the lowlifes spend a long time in very small quarters.
