I'd never heard of such a thing before. But, that's what we are going to eat for supper at a meeting I'm going to on Thursday evening.
Basically, you take a bag of Doritos and sort of crunch them up a little bit. You then open the bag and spoon in all the stuff you would put in a taco. Then, you eat it up with a "spork".
Sounds good to me!
That sounds like an easy and fun thing for a party or meeting of any kind.
We had these all the time when I was in elementary school...they called them 'walking tacos' cause you could carry the bag with you. Usually used Fritos, though, but my school was cheap. I still see them at outdoor block parties and sponsored keggers.

Petro's!!!
I will not visit Knoxville without making a stop at a Petro's.
Petro's started at the 1982 Knoxville World's Fair. They took a bag of Fritos, turned it on it's side, cut the bag open and then added chili and all the fixings. Now they are in the malls and even some free standing restaurants. It's one of my favorites and we replicate it about once a month here at home.

Diggs
I always put Fritos in the bottom of my bowl of chili. I can see how the chili-in-a-bag would work just fine also.
I like anything spicey. Up around these parts the real treat we like are Indian Tacos. Basically, taco stuff piled on top of Indian fry bread. Yummm!

Down here in Arizona we call stray dogs in Mexico "walking tacos".....
Turn the bag on it's side, open add chile , cheese , onions and a cheap plastic spork. Not the good sporks we use at Chirstmas. I believe its considered a vegitable on the Texas school menu.

We call it chili pie.
I do it with homemade chili only or it aint as good. Put fritos in bottom of dish, warm chili, top with cheese & my homegrown, canned jalepenos and pop in the oven for a few minutes. YUM!!! Beats this dang slimfast drink I'm having right now.
Sonic sells a version of chili pie but not as good.
