Top Vote Getter in SSR Calendar Contest so far... PIC
Hey all,
Here's the lead vote getter so far in the SSR Calendar contest. There's still plenty of time to get yours entered if you haven't already. Check out MemberCalendars.com if you're interested in filling the final slots.
Looks like you have to register to become a member just to see the entrants.
Sorry, we're working on that for phase 2. If all you want to do is look and possibly vote, just mark "Private" in all the personal info fields, "0000000000" in the phone number section but provide a valid email address.
We only need your actual info if you submit a photo so we can account for how we got it.
My pick too cause they say yellow ones are the fastest.
I've heard that the yellow SSR's are great way to pick up chicks too. Nine times out of ten when you pull up next to a yellow car a chick is driving so you instantly have something in common to talk about.

Hey sorry Charlie, the pace truck is really sweet.
Flash-you are right about it being denied because of the busy background. I personally sent an extra email (on top of the generic auto email that goes out saying you've been approved or not approved) to see if we could get a different photo of that SSR. I knew it was a special SSR and really wanted that car in myself, just a different photo without other cars and people in the background. Believe me, I wanted the pace truck in the calendar too (didn't know only 2 were ever made, but knew it was obviously rare).

Me personally, I think it blend in with the crowd real well.
I can definitely agree with that. It's not even that the picture is all that bad, but the picture just broke too many rules. Beside just the people, other cars, etc. there is a Gatorade logo on the left side in the background. You'd have to think Gatorade wouldn't care, but these days you can't take anything for granted, so we've been advised to stay clear of any company logos, slogans, or anything in the category period. It's something we just have to be careful of. Sorry again Charlie, it's a sweet pace truck, one that deserves to be in the calendar, just a different shot of it. I was hoping to get a different shot of it too, and that's why I emailed you directly.

Please PM or post your email address I will send you a photo of Charlie's truck on the Indy grid with the tower in the background.
While I'm at it, I'll send you the photos of the Signature trucks that I tried but was unable to submit.
Speaking of busy backgrounds, I don't see where Charlie's was any worse than the background behind the yellow custom.

And Charlie's background isn't worse by any means, it just broke our rules that we have posted on the upload screen. I personally like the picture, just couldn't use it in the calendar.

Why we gotta hate? I think 838stingray's pic is very good - very "industrial chic". Take a look inside your wife's fashion magazines, you'll see plenty just like it.
Charlie's SSRs is one of my favorites - LOVE the color combination! Hope you can get a pic submitted.

I like 838stingray's truck too.
I didn't realize the background was called Industrial Chic. Is that kinda like Shabby Chic, where beat up old junk is featured in exotic homes? I don't look at my wife's home fashion magazines all that often, but have noticed it mentioned on HGTV shows.

Can't even read the rules without being a member. Not sure I want to join something without knowing the rules first. paranoid?
Sorry Blue, we're fixing that for next year. We know there are some rough spots with the site, hopefully this all works out so we can improve on things for the future.
For my G8 club last year, we did all this on the forum and it was painful trying to keep track of everything. We made a nice calendar and a lot of people bought one which spurred this business and the site.
My SSR: #23198 06 Blue 3SS #375 of 532 - Birthday 12/21/05 - Took delivery 9/5/06 (2nd owner)

Good things to come for next year.
I wish you luck and will be watching.
