I somehow lost my sound icon at the bottom of my screen and can't find it, I need help, And please don't tell me to get a MAC

I don't run Vista but have you tried a right click, create shortcut and sending it to the desktop? Maybe you can move it into the bottom tray from there?

yep tried that, won't work I will wait to see if it comes back after shutting down, where are the pictures of the baby???

I not a vista user, and I don't play one on TV.

On XP, there's a check box on the control panel to put the icon on the task tray.

Saw him yesterday and he was still in the nursery hooked up to IV and couldn't take my camera in there. Here is one my son took with his cell phone a couple hours after birth...can't wait until they get home

Yes, he does look tired and was very lethargic initially due to the BP meds...it took him a while to come out of it.

Often changes don't take place until there is a restart...everything may be back to normal then

When you say "tried that" was there actually a selection and it was selected and it did not work OR is there no place to select it.

Choose windows classic mode, and it makes it easier to navigate. but checking the Place a Icon on your menu bar/start should have worked.

Wildcat --
Try this, it should work

Right click on the taskbar at the bottom of your screen (the one with the icons and time)
Select Properties
When the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties box comes up, click on the
Notification Area
Make sure the Volume has a check mark in front of it under the System icons.
Click Apply and OK
The volume MIxer icon will now show up in the notification area of your
taskbar.

I tried that it was marked, so I shut it down

Ya know Machell, while I do love that avatar, and the idea you want to smell like thte grill, if you have a bottle of A-1 next to you, I think you could really bring it home.
