Unhappy Walter Cronkite Dies

Walter Cronkite Dies-cronkite_getty_77837381_bn.jpg

Legendary CBS broadcast journalist Walter Cronkite has died.

Cronkite was known as "the most trusted man in America" -- known for delivered the news of President John F. Kennedy's assassination in 1963 and the lunar landing in 1969.

Three weeks ago Cronkite's family revealed he had been suffering for years with cerebrovascular disease and was not expected to recuperate.

He was 92.

Requiescat in Pace, Walter.

His broadcasts were nearly a daily feature of my childhood. My father watched the news every evening, and every evening that he was on, my father watched Mr. Cronkite. My reference for so many events and happenings for so many years is narrated in his voice.

He reported what "actually" happened. not his opinion of what happened. The news was sacred to Walter Cronkite not to be "flavored" or biased in any way. Wish we had that kind of reportiong today.
