Warning for “SSR model contest”

Warning for “SSR model contest”

This is a heads up so if you’re interested you can buy a kit and supplies as you see them.

This fall I will start a SSR model contest.
We will have a stock looking class and a customized class.
Let’s make them look real as possible.
Kit's like this are still available for $12-$16
Anyone interested sign up here, to let me see if it is worth doing.

Thinking start contest 1st of Oct. and judge First of Nov.

I have a couple of kits, still in the package, never have done one before...depending on the time frame, this might be fun.

Sounds interesting.
I've got one in a package too.
Might be fun to work on during a cold rainy Calif week.

I have had one in the box for several months now, the only thing I've done is put the tires on the rims. Maybe this would give me the motivation to move a little quicker.

IMHO, Nov too soon as we still have great topless weather here. How about end of Feb or Mid March.

Can you enter if you have already built one? They never made a diecast so I had to make my own.

Plus we get a lot more rainy weeks in the Northwest than our good friends in California. You would think I would have more than one built.

Yours looks great. I just finished the Revelle model that has about 100 different pieces. There are some very small pieces that will require magnifying glass and tweezers. And, making the model will take many, many hours. My looks pretty bad compared to your blue one; I think I learned a bunch that would help me if I were to ever do another one.

Deb, don't be such wimp.Opening one lousy box is not goin to kill you. You'll still have 2 more to have to dust.

They are all different Besides it's easier to dust a box off then a model out of the box

Thanks for the compliment. Fortunately my pictures don't show all the imperfections. There are a lot of pieces, and I found out you need to follow the instructions! Never did get the small decals to stick. As if anyone is going to look for the wording on the radiator hose.
