time out corner
Thanks for the thoughts Tim.
I've been off here for almost two weeks due to an accidental fall while working in my garage, hanging pictures !
Sometimes, the simplest things get soooooo complicated, I was standing on two milk crates very comfortably, then I found myself lying on the stack of pictures I had just framed, on the floor, with my left ankle area quickly filling my shoe. I had been told that this was an un safe practice and was reminded of it once again in the E R ! I'm sure none of the other members use this procedure, they keep saying it is UNSAFE
So, the next stop was the Bone Doc, who set up a date for an operation to resturcture my heel bone. The operation was planned to be 1 to 1 1/2 hr with 2 screws and a strap..............it then took 2 3/4 hrs and 10 screws with a plate that my wife Kathy says looks like and intake manifold gasket and an appropriate amount of some level of "JB weld" !
So, I have been in the time out chair since.........without computer privliges, due to our computer being located in the basement. I was given a treat for good behavior, a LAPTOP !!!! Now my world has re-opened...........ahhhhhhhh
At least another week in the time out chair, then a cast, learning the skills of crutches and their use for 6-8-10 weeks.
All looks good, just a slow recovery time, then some re-hab, so I will have plenty of stamina for WOODWARD 2007.

Glad you`re on the mend. I spent a year in an electric scooter and 3 operations after falling out of a tree stand. Coulda lost my life. I feel your pain, but now it`s just like you said, hurry and get well for Laughlin.......Paul
