What should I get?

I am shopping for a new vehicle. I know what I need, don't know what I should get. So I need some help!

Has to seat at least 6. (Our family has grown)
Has to be easy to get in and out. (for those who are short)
Has to have good trunk space. (I shop at Costco)
And has to look good
No mini vans

Anyone have any suggestions on what NOT to get??
(The comment of putting some of our SSR's together and making a stretch has been made)

I have a Hyundai Veracruz and bought it for the same reasons. I would buy another as it is a high quality vehicle, gets reasonable fuel milage and the cost of the vehicle is less than comparable vehicles. Much less for what you get. Good room in the second row, and a fold away third row that you can actually use for two kids or reasonable size adults. Kids for longer distance and adults short trips. A number of other American made vehicles would be suitable as well but they are all in the same sport utility or crossover class. Dodge and Chev seem to have the closest in size to the Hyundai but you do not get the same value for the dollar. Buick suv might work well, Ford gets a bit bulky in the configuration you want. Also this is the last year for the Veracruz and it is set for major change that will likely be a larger type SantaFe.

Time to replace our Tahoe too

But for different reasons than yours.....

I would recommend a 2006 Escalade. This is the last year for that body style and has the most reliable systems for that series. I have started looking for a good used AWD Escalade for Debbie and me (has to be black, of course) that has less than 100K miles. The 2wd Escalade has 5.3 and the awd has 6.0 engine. All come with a 3rd row seat that folds. Pricing for a 6 liter should be in the $10-15K range.... They exist in Sun City, for sure.

If I can find one, I'll be yanking the console out and converting the front seat to a semi-bench, like our existing Tahoe has. With seating for 3 up front and 3 in the back, you really won't need the third row seating that comes in all of them.......

Regards,

Mikey

I do like the Escalades. I would rather find something used. Doug would be at a dealer in the morning if I let him
