We installed the new WindSuppreSSR and did a little bit of top down cruising to try it out. The day isn't over yet! I think an evening cruise is in order too.

No real fun here but I did help a friend out getting his 66 Fairlane back on the road. We painted the engine compartment, put the engine and tranny back in as well as the front fenders. It was a PITA due to all the smoke from the GA fires coming this way, visibility was down to about 1/4 mile but it did cut the rays of the sun so that it wasn't too hot. Almost like the rice fields burning out your way but worse.
The mid valley Sierra foothills are a great place for cruising, I miss doing them in my Vette and various bikes I owned while I lived out there. Hope your back on the road again soon to enjoy!

what did you do today
had youngest boy put water in 97 pu it came out faster than he put it in I guess he knows why it was loosing water . 3 hrs later he's off to the mall (darn mall rat) had to put water pump in for him he doesn't do well with tools poor kid
Ordered 2 windows for the house, pleated shades for the window, returned something to Sears, dry cleaners, saw FRACTURED with ANTHONY HOPKINS. Out for Japanese food. Boring day. I give it an 80. No SSR, no top down.
I detailed the SSR last night and we went for a cruise down the Strip and headed on over to the "Hooters Casino" for some wings. Lo and behold, there is a car show there, we swing around into the drive and are directed through the crowd and passing the show cars. Now I just got the windows tinted extreme black to go with the black paint, so this SSR looks badd!!. We finally ask somebody where the customers park and he says you are in the show. Damn! So we parked beside a Ranchero and was amazed at all the positive and inquisitive questions I got along with many pictures taken especially from the Japanese crowd. Wow man what is this, cool ride dude. etc etc. So given to fate we went in for some wings and came back out and they were judging the cars, Dude asked me for my #, What for? your eligible for a trophy. Well I fessed up and since I didn't enter, no judging for me. I says thats ok, we just came for the wings really, but all the attention was indeed nice.
Took the R out for a topless drive this AM. Then put it in the garage and took the SUV to the malls for some afternoon shopping. I can't build up my nerves to park my SSR at any shopping parking lots.
Just finish BBQing chicken for dinner.

exactly the reason why I hit the stores early or during the week and NEVER go to the mall didn't go anywhere except the local market this a.m. and to the post office next door...spent most of the day directing Tim where to put this plant and that plant heard from my aunt who had to evacuate Catalina on Wednesday night...she's back home and doing fine, said it was pretty scary
Drove 6 Laps around the Texas Motorsports Speedway got up to 95MPH follow very closely to the pace car the first 3 laps, got stuck behind the Solstice's the second 3 laps but did manage to leave a little space between to get up to 100 MPH nearly ran over the red solstice!
Everytime I do I think, I have done this before, it's no big deal but everytime I finish I say wow that was so much fun and want to do it again Now If we could just keep the slow people out of the way it would be perfect

Was their a speed limit or could you go all out? I would love to try that someday.
speed limit supposed to be 75 (we can do that on the Interstate ) But they told us if we stay close to the pace car and not leave a big gap between cars we could go faster,

That funny as Ellen looks at the GPS to see if I'm telling the truth. Can't get away with it anymore.

FINALLY, I got out today
Glen,as they say, I feel your pain !
I too have been laid up, for 2 weeks with a broken heel, but due to a reasonable Doc, got to get into the wife's minivan ( and was dam glad to be there !) and went for a two hour drive to Bowling Green Ky to see my youngest son Dean graduate Summa Cum Laude in Manufacturing Management from Western Kentucky University.
So, Saturday was a BIG day in several ways for the Knight family.
Good luck on your shoulder recovery

Looks like another trip to Home Despot (second today!) I didn't get enough patch mulch for my lawn. The area that I'm trying to resurrect is bigger than I thought. Might as well get the other things I forgot as well - bug killer to nuke the ant nests under the garage ramp, moss killer, etc.
Wonderful weather today too.... I should be out driving, but I'm being a good boy and doing my household chores. At least the trip out and back can be fun!

What kind of GPS do you have. I have the Garmin Nuvi and it will let me reset the max speed. I am always afraid that a cop will pull me over and ask to see my GPS. That would not be pretty........LOL

Garwin is the make...................hubby would fall asleep then wake up and check the GPS. He would then look over at me and say "97" Deb? My reply "I can't Drive 55"
