Deck hinges and strut replacement

I read an article about replacing the hinges and struts and it gave a GM order # with parts #'s but I can't find the thread. Can anyone help?

I found it at the bottom of my pile of SSR paperwork. It's a senior moment.

Mike Byers is the bomb!

When I bought my Pac Blue over Ricochet Silver SSR from Classic Chevrolet, the dealership he works for, he had the hinges and struts replaced due to the TSB before I got to Dallas to pick the truck up, without my knowledge. Thanks again Mike!

I had my '05 into Bill Jacobs and they couldn't get the replacement hinges to work with the hard bags that I have. They were going to order new set of original struts, I'll have them installed when I bring it out in the spring. I'm disappointed with the service at Bill Jacobs.

Houbie
I heard they wont work with hard bags unless you cut the bags up

The TSB replacement of the hinges will not work with hard saddle bags.

Buy a pair of soft saddlebags - they are more versatile, take up less space, and you can remove them and take them with you into a hotel.
