Smile Engine "Missing"

Traveling home on Sunday the engine started to miss. Tried to drive home, had to coast down the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, then call the tow truck to the dealer. Found a broken valve spring! With nearly 60K miles there was no warranty...BUT....Chevy paid 1/2 towing and repair bill! Apparently a very rare occurence and worth their while to pay some of the tab. All is well again with my red 2005.

Gads, what an experience that must have been. I am glad you had luck with them paying 1/2 the repair bill.

WOW, that sounds like a rare occurrence. Glad they picked up some of the tab.

Out of curiosity, did you have all service and oil changes done at the same dealer or did they even ask for oil receipts if done somewhere else? I have heard that when things like this happen dealers won't do anything unless you can show proper maintenance records.
