first forum

I registered yesterday as cranky kathy and had a question as to the battery location. Thank you to all who helped, however I could not get back to the forum so I have had to reregister as my husband. We are the proud new owners of a slingshot yellow 2004 SSR, my husband is a car buff, this is the first vehicle that I have been so excited and interested in!! I would have liked to add one of those smilies of the yellow SSR, I don't know how to.... trust me though, I'm smiling!!! I am going to be able to drive it this week, my husband doesn't want me to drive it in bad weather, so, I've had to wait. I will be taking it to work to show every one - and then this weekend ( weather permitting ), I'll take out for a long ride!!! Does my truck ( he thinks it's our truck ) have an ashtray? We bought it in Conn. from a woman who bought it new. It has 8,ooo miles on it, we keep it in my future son in laws garage for now as we have no room because my husband has several cars and there is no room currently, I guess you could say right now I only have visitation rights.... this will change soon! This seems like a wonderfull site, I hope I can get back after posting this fingers crossed!!

Hey Kathy

Welcome to the forum. The ashtray is in the middle of the dash down at the bottom and opens by pushing up on the door and letting go.
It closes by pushing up until it (sometimes) latches

Welcome, again, Crankyray . . . from Southern Arizona!

If you prefer "Crankycathy" you may try contacting one of the Forum Bosses to help fix the problem.

As for driving YOUR SSR to work . . . FORGET WORK as it tends to interfere with your fun driving time.

Congrats and Enjoy,

Curt

Cnograts to you & your SSR, & welcome to the SSR forum. I'm sure once you get to drive it you'll love it, as we all do here @ the SSR forum.
Raider Keith; From Hemet, CA. Ask any thing here & it will get an ansure, as you can see a lot of us can't spell, & there are JOKES from time to time, but you well get the most help right here. The battery is on the right side under the rear of the truck, about as far away from motor as you can get.

There is a lot of info on the site. Don't be afraid to ask questions. You might get a couple wisecrack remarks but usually questions get answered quite thoroughly.
If you don't have one get your hands on an owners manual. A lot of questions can be answered there. I have not done it but have heard if you register at mygmlink.com you can download the owners manual there.

Cranky Kathy,

Welcome from the Great Commonwealth of Virginia!

...now, we here at SSR Fanatics refer to your smile (you are experiencing ) as "Permagrin". It's an instant affliction once you are crusin' in your own SSR! May your Permagrins begin.

Welcome Kathy. I have the same SSR model and color and it took me 6 weeks to stumble onto the ash tray. I was told that there was none but obviously that was wrong.

Stick around and all your questions will be answered, as were mine.

We had that problem with 2003s. I thought it was fixed for 2004s.
I had to call them and have them manual enter it.....I know, really stupid, but that's what it took.

I tried entering my 2008 Silverado a month after I bought it and it wasn't ready for it yet....I should try again.
