Can't load Google Earth on my work PC - will look at G-E when I get home this afternoon...

Not sure if this will help - but some discussion at:

Flassh, go to the National Laughlin thread . . . it appears that Mike in AZ has done just that. Maybe he'll tell you his methods.

One thing I learn from "Professor" Mike in AZ. Try using the print feature, tell the printer to printed to a PDF. Then converted to jpeg.
It’s the long way of doing it & it works. (so what else are you doing with your free time)

I found a "short way" to link to a google map.

after you get the map up, there is a link that says "Link to this Page".
Right click on this and the click copy short cut.

Paste it into your message here. This will bring a link, but not insert the map here .

ex: Route 66 map

So I just read through a couple dozen posts on the Google maps forum and it doesn't look like Google wants you to be able to just copy a map into a picture to post online.....so there may only be "long" ways to get a picture posted, ie. print it to a jpeg file.....etc. etc.
