John, go to User CP at top of page and click. Go to edit options and scroll down to messaging and notifications.. Go to private massaging and un-click-recieving e-mail massages. That shoulddo it. Also there is the spot for default threads where you can tell them not to notify you what was posted.
Judy
Under Settings & Options
Click Edit Options
Down a little ways you'll see " Receive Email Notification of New Private Messages" You can click that box to add or remove what you want.

Once you're done, sent me a 6 pack of beer.
Jeff, I was first, so I get the beer this time.

I saw that but did not think it related. I am trying first, before I "sent" the beer.

I like your way better, it did not cost me a six pack of beer like Jeff at RRR.

This time, ship the beer to us first then we'll be more specific.
Beside .... why would you want to turn off that email future? Are you sick n' tired of us or what?
I go into the site everyday. Don't need to be reminded or have my email site junked up with allot of messages that I trash anyway. Never get sick of youse guys. You are my life.

Okay Judy. I am going to follow your directions. The beer goes to you and not ornery Jeff. If it works.
I "unchecked" everything in Messaging and Notifications except 'receive email from Administrator' and 'receive board greetings on your birthday'. And then I hit Save Changes.

That should do it, huh??
That will do it alright. If you did as you say the problem is you also removed the check from "enable private messaging" and enable "private message pop-up" which means now you can't private message and if you get one it will not notify you even when you are on the site. You must go to User CP to see if you have any PMs. That might be a big OOPS!
Now, who gets the beer?
