help with attaching front license plate holder

Just purchased the factory front license plate holder and cannot figure out how it will attach to my ssr without drilling into the grill. Surely this isn't required, but, i just can't see how it can be done otherwise (and the plate holder came with NO bolts or instructions). Any photos or words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

Yup, you figured it out, you must drill holes in the nice pristine front end in order to attach a front plate. OUCH!!! A REAL bummer, I HATE the holes in the front end. There is a dealer near my house that is installing front plates on all the new cars in stock and I will not buy from him just for that reason. I don't live in a front plate state and I hate the holes. If I did live in a front plate state I would keep the plate in the window or in the glovebox.

Welcome Dono from So Calif.
If you're using the factory front plate holder then yes you'll have to drill two holes. I'm not sure if 3M two way tape would do. You might want to look into that option.
As for me, I don't want to drill any holes and most importance thing was I didn't want to block any cool air from enter through the grill so I brought this cool plate holder on ebay eBay Motors: Chevrolet SSR (Chevy) Custom Front Licence Plate Holder (item 190250802787 end time Sep-14-08 06:00:01 PDT) what works great.

Thanks, everyone, for the help. I felt pretty dumb not being able to figure out how to attach it. But, now, I just feel so sorry for all American's who are subjected to this type of poor quality design engineering so prevelent in our society. They should take the engineer who designed this license plate holder out and shoot him just to increase the total I.Q. of the gene base!

The best way to secure the bracket is to pre drill first ,then rivet on.This is also the way all new escaldes are done at the dealer. The whole thing sucks but if you have to be legal, you dont have much choice.
