Need help on my subscription please..

Just got my billing from Paypal and saw that the company that owns SSR Forum charged me twice for my renewal.....sigh. I called Paypal which in turn gave me a phone number for this site and it is 416-341-8950.

I am asking Mark or whoever communicates with them to help me correct this as when I called this number, I get endless phone trees and a volice mail. Awhile back I emailed them and never recieved a reply so I am not expecting any great service this time. Can anyone here help me please? Thanks.

Jeff

DId the same to me!
Just got my bill today, and they hit me twice...
HELP!
I just sent a message to the "contact us" site down there at the very bottom, in nano-type... see if down there? No, got an owl to read it for us humans?

If we can't get anyone here involved, I will just dispute the credit card.
Lakecat, you get anyone human to call you or PM you, would you give me a heads up? I"ll do the same.

Of course... I am curious...did you renew on 2-21 or 2-22? Maybe a glitch that day if you did as that is when I did mine. The bureaucracy one has to go thru to get something corrected is what I hate. Still no call or email so I may do as you....just dispute the card...

Unfortunately, Jeff . . .

CHARGES are instant while CREDITS take forever nowadays.

I will check my CC bill tomorrow, for the date.
How long did it take from your first message, till they agreed to credit it back. Note I said agreed... they actually HAVE to do it!

I am such a skeptic...

I thnk it's not being a skeptic as much as just not being able to have human contact with a simple problem such as this. Their email said they would be glad to correct it but needed some info....which I sent but so far the extra charge is still in my Paypal account. Their email was sent to me at 7:56 est yesterday evening but I have no idea what message they answered as I tried several avenues.

Hopefully they correct today. I would contact that email I posted if I were you.

I had a similar problem and Nadeem Syed apologized and corrected the problem. I agree, I think its a computerized system and therein lies the problem. I was able to resolve the problem entirely by email.

OK, Got to Nadeem S, and did get the credit to my paypal account. However it was 50 cents short! I am not that cheap, but in principal, did we know WE are paying HIS Paypal fee?
He/She tells me that the SSRForum AUTOMATICALLY renews. I didn't know that, and would bet those who were double charged didn't either. We all get an email that tells us that our subscription is about to expire, so we renew. Then the auto renew hits too.

Here is what I sent back to him / her?
"I just got the notification of the credit from Paypal. Thank you for the prompt response. But.... (there is always a but) they credited $25.00, not the $25.50 I was charged (twice!). Is this a paypal fee, because I see it was the same for both? I am not going to squeeze you for the 50 cents, but in principal one should know that there is a fee from paypal that we, the subscriber, is paying, not you the charging / selling entity. On most online business, the seller pays this fee (or hides it in the price), why not here?
My son in law has an online store called GoingGear.com (check it out if you hike or treck!) he pays 2.7% plus a transaction fee, but he doesn't (overtly) charge his buyers, like it appears you do here.

I don't think this is clear in your subscription agreement either, is it?"

So... ya live... ya learn!

...................................................................................................

I was told the $.50 is a fee because the funds are going out of the US.

Anyone besides me wonder why we are paying for an SSR Forum being run

by someone outside the US?

Isn't this part of our problem here today?

Since the SSR was built in the USA, and is owned mostly by people in the

USA, and of course our friends in Canada........you would think at the

least the Forum would be owned by, and run by someone in the USA.

Ah why not put US citizens back to work?

Just my opinion, I don't trust anyone that automatically signs me up for a

renewal.....I signed up, I didn't enlist.

All corrected and fine now. Just got on and saw that they have credited me the money. I didn't ave this 50 cent charge when I renewed though as it was just charged $25.

As far as being foreign owned.....meh...I got much more important things in my life to worry about. They made a mistake, corrected it timely, and that's all I expect.

I could not agree more, njja!

Here's another WTF for you . . . I recently learned that Customer Service for GM MasterCard is in India?

That's right . . . HSBC managing General Motors MasterCard Customer Service outsources all calls to India. Ain't that a kick in the fanny?

Mine was at the same time and I just got my MC statement today. There is only one paypal charge on it.
That said, I got the email reminder and i went to the page and clicked on renew...... so there appears to be no auto renewal.

That is what confuses me as that is all I did also but when I got my account corrected, this is the note that was sent with it...

-I have refunded your double payment. I also cancelled your subscription so this will not happen again. Thanks. The Autoforums Team -

Huh?

I think they are telling us they calcelled the membership associated with THAT payment. Meaning the other one, the auto renewal, is still in place. At least I am still able to get on here, so that would have to be the assumption.

What a deal... or "cluster" whatever your choice.

If you go to your Paypal account you will see that this site has set up the automatic renewal.

You can delete this automatic renewal, which will have no affect on your current membership, it will simply allow you to renew it when you choose to.
