PayPal

I am a member but have a new member who would like to join but does not want to use Pay Pal. He said he had a real problem with them some time back.
Is there another way for him to pay $ to join??

Send a PM to the administrator. It used to be Troy Roberts and he would arrange for you to send a check, but who knows with the new ownership...

That's rather interesting that Paypal is the only payment option mentioned. Paypal does NOT rule the world, there should be other options for payment .......

Paypal had a judgement against them for illegal business practices and they had to pay out millions in fines etc...maybe your buddy could look to see if he should get a piece of the money pie $$$$.

Its funny. A while back we were all fighting to get PayPal as an option. Now we have it and people want something else.

You do not need a PayPal account to pay through PayPal. You can use a credit card or pay by check just like going to any other merchant. I've been using PayPal for years and have had no problems at all.

Of course it is always nicer to have more than one option of paying. (hint, hint)

FYI: I had a real crap*y PayPal event. Unauthorized payment...

I must say that PayPal handled it quite well. They were very professional - moved quick to stop the damage and even paid me the difference I had lost out in the foreign exchange snafu too...

Musta caught them right after the lawsuit!

I agree that this is someone else's house and what they say goes, but it would be nice to have more than one type of payment. I have been using Paypal for years and have never had a payment issue so it's not a big deal to me. The key word above is "option". I think we all would appreciate more than one form of payment. When there is only one form offered I don't know if you can call that an "option", it's more a demand.

When EBay bought Paypal I had/have issues on the way they ran new business rules, but again, they own it and the bottom dollar is what they want. I had to upgrade my account from the free account if I wanted to use Paypal in EBay auctions. EBay has made it VERY hard not to use an upgraded account and use their services. Not only are they getting a ton in fees from EBay listings, they now get transaction fees from the money changing hands. I should have invested long ago ......

Anyway, since we have new owners it is rather sad that they haven't stepped up and posted a sticky as to who they are and how they plan to run things. They have posted a few hints here and there but nothing substantial. We've been here for years, they walk in and it's a new day with minimal communication. Kinda scary. Troy never spent much time here, I don't think he really cared about it as long as the sky wasn't falling and he was making a few dollars. I know the new owners are a corporate entity and the almighty dollar is king, but it would be nice to have a little two way communication and official welcome in a discussion area.

Just my .02

Could it be that they are not used to the fact we are one big family and not just a bunch of forum posters? Maybe they need an invitation.

Cool PayPal

Thanks for all the input, but it is kinda scary that they may change some things with out asking.
I am not really happy with the new format, but I am getting used to it.
The addage was "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".
Seems, there is ALWAYS someone who has a better way.

I always thought that if you keep your customers happy, that's us, than the money continues to come in.
Make them unhappy and they go away.

Dick

When Ebay purchase Paypal years ago, they saw the opportunity to make xtra dollars!
It was a smart move but it also created a conflict of interest to some degree!
I've had my share of problems with Paypal and no longer use it since I have my own Merchant Account for Credit Card transactions, it makes it harder to pay others but if you'll investigate this site you'll see why Paypal isn't what it's cracked up to be!

PayPalSucks.com is where you will learn about the PayPal Class Action Lawsuit, Abuse, Fraud & evil behind the PayPal system!

Just had a phisher email tonight from a supposed PayPal website.

Didn't have my user name or account # just a general someone from a foreign IP address has tried to access your account, you need to contact us at this address or we'll lock your account.

Checked my account though the regular paypal site (not their linked address) and no one has attempted to withdraw any money, other than the one purchase I did make.

Sent it to Spoof@paypal.com and deleted the email.

All should be cool.

Bad PayPal

Just heard another BAD PayPal story.
Coworker sent sold something on eBay. The purchaser paid with PayPal.
The purchaser received product and left positive feedback. Then the purchaser told PayPal they did not receive product and PayPal deducted the money from my coworkers account. When coworker complained, PayPal said since she didn't have tracking on it, she could prove the purchaser received it. When coworker looked at purchasers eBay account it said they were no longer on eBay.....so coworker is out over $100...stupid PayPal!!!

Sadly, FUZZY, I get way too many of those for PayPal as well as for some banks, etc I've never even heard of.

Those SCUMBAGS never seem to give up. Thank Goodness for the DELETE key!
